ADRIENNE MICHELLE DILLARD JAMES DAVID HOBBS
Adrienne Michelle Dillard became the bride of James David Hobbs at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 24, in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral with the Very Rev. Christoph Keller III officiating.
Cannell and Dennis Alexander Dillard of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Helen and the late Nicholas James Andrews of Abilene, Texas, and the late Alexa and William Thomas Dillard of Little Rock.
Parents of the bridegroom are Marshall Massie Hobbs of Ridgeland, Miss., and James Daniel Hobbs of Moneta, Va. His grandparents are Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Massie of Nashville, Tenn., and Mr. And Mrs. James Hobbs of Richmond, Va.
White and cream arrangements of wedding flowers decorated the chancel. Nuptial music was by organist Jason Pennington-Saugey, violinists Drew Irvin and Meredith Hicks, violist Tze-Ying Wu, cellist Ethan Young, harpist Alisa Coffey and Robert Love on the hammered dulcimer. Victoria Mathis Harden was choirmaster.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a pearl-white Chantilly lace gown embellished with bands of embroidered organza and soft cascading ruffles. She carried a small bouquet of gardenias.
The bride’s honor attendants were her sisters, Annemarie Dillard Jazic of Little Rock and Alexandra Dillard Lucie of Atlanta. They wore sleeveless gowns of light ivory crepe and carried bouquets of astilbe, freesia and garden roses. Flower girls were Adrienne Alexandra Lucie of Atlanta, niece of the bride, and Robin Olivia Shaw of Ridgeland, niece of the bridegroom.
Best man was the bridegroom’s maternal grandfather. Groomsmen were Miles Clements of San Francisco; Thomas Wells Jr. and Christopher Golden, both of New York; and Newton Wiggins of Cleveland. Guests were seated by James Aldige of Charlottesville, Va.; Michael Blair, Ray Cannada and John Fry III, all of Birmingham, Ala.; Gibbs Fryer and Lawrence Houchins, both of Atlanta; James Hood Jr. of Jackson, Miss.; Andrew Paradis of London; Jason Saunders of Richmond, Va.; James Watts of Seaside, Fla.; and Donald Wilson of Memphis.
A reception was held under a clear pavilion on the front lawn of the Dillards’ home. White and cream arrangements of peonies, roses, gardenias and snowball hydrangeas decorated tables and lounge areas. Music was by Pure Party of Atlanta.
The bride graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and with a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. She is a director at Dillard’s.
The bridegroom graduated with high distinction from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and is a partner at Tiger Eye Capital.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii and Japan, the couple will live in New York.
