Carla Fuller
ATTORNEY
CARLA FULLER FAMILY LAW
Q. How do you start your day? A. I have an iced decaf latte and look at the schedule for the day.
Q. What is your best workday? A. A successful day in court is nice, but so are the days when I meet new clients and get fired up about helping them unravel their problems.
Q. What is something people don’t know about your business? A. I text myself all hours of the night when I have an idea about a case. It’s exciting to wake up in the morning and see all the thoughts I’ve had.
Q. Why I love working for my business: A. I really love being a lawyer in White County because I have a lot of good attorneys to practice with and against. There are plenty of lawyers here who know that the drama is not necessary to reach a good settlement in a family-law case. I can’t stand lawyers who turn family members against each other just to make more money on a case. I wish I could say that never happens, but it does. I can say it doesn’t happen at my office.
Q. What are your best attributes as a lawyer?
A. People often come to me on the saddest or worst day of their lives, and I really like
being able to show them that their problems are not insurmountable. If I can help them understand the process and maybe even laugh a little at the tangle they find themselves in, that gives me a lot of satisfaction. At the end of a first appointment, people will say, “I was really nervous about coming here, but you’re easy to talk to.” That feels great.
Q. If you weren’t in this business, you would: A. Work in theater. I love all of the aspects of community theater. As the board chair for Center on the Square, I get to put my fingers in lots of projects. I usually direct one or two shows a year, then work on other fundraising projects so Searcy will always have a community theater.
Q. Where would people find you on your days off? A. At the Center on the Square community theater, 219 W. Arch Ave. in Searcy.
