SOCCER Bethel women beat John Brown

John Brown University’s women’s team lost 2-1 to Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday in McKenzie, Tenn. Jastin Redman scored John Brown’s goal in the 66th minute. Maggie Swift and Brittany Bray scored for Bethel (3-0-0) in the sixth minute and 58th minute. John Brown (1-1-0) outshot Bethel 21-3.

Williams Baptist women fall to Jamestown

Williams Baptist College (1-2) women lost 5-1 to Jamestown (N.D.) Saturday at Eagle Field in Walnut Ridge. Williams Baptist’s goal came on a penalty kick from Carlee Spears in the 60th minute. Jamestown (4-0) outshot Williams Baptist 20-1.

Oklahoma Christian edges Harding’s men

Oklahoma Christian’s men scored three goals in the second half to beat Harding University 3-2 on Saturday in Searcy. Jason Diaz scored in the 41st minute to give Harding a 1-0 lead, but Oklahoma Christian (2-0) took a 2-1 lead on goals in the 53rd and 66th minute. Andrew Cunha tied the game in the 70th minute. Chandler Parrish scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute. Harding (0-1) outshot Oklahoma Christian 17-15.

VOLLEYBALL Arkansas sweeps Syracuse

The University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le swept Syracuse 25-22, 25-13, 25-16 at the K-State Invitation­al in Manhattan, Kan., on Saturday. Pilar Victoria led the Razorbacks (5-1) with 19 kills. Krista Kolbinskie had 9 digs. Rachel Rippee had 38 assists. Syracuse (3-4) was led by Ella Saada, who had 7 kills.

Arkansas State splits at home

Arkansas State University defeated Ole Miss 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-18 in the A-State Invitation­al after losing 27-25, 25-23, 25-16 to SMU Saturday in Jonesboro. The Red Wolves (3-4) were led by Carlisa May, who had 17 kills against the Rebels. Ellie Watkins had 43 assists. Jessica Uke had 10 kills.

Drew Jones had 11 kills and 13 digs. Tatum Ticknor had 23 digs. Against SMU (3-2), Jones led Arkansas State with 14 kills and 14 digs. Ticknor had 18 digs. Watkins had 29 assists.

UALR swept by Memphis

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock lost 25-19, 25-21, 25-17 to Memphis on Saturday at the UCA Invitation­al in Conway. UALR (2-4) was led by Veronica Marin, who had 7 kills. Taylor Lindberg had 19 assists. Sydnee Martin had 12 digs and Mya Robinson had 10. Hannah Flowers led Memphis (2-4) with 10 kills. Faith Myers had 20 assists and Regan Comprery had 10. Tai Bierria had 11 digs and Alyssa Kornberg had 10.

UCA extends winning streak to 6

The University of Central Arkansas won its sixth consecutiv­e match with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-12 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday in Conway. Central Arkansas (6-0) was led by Haley Tippett with 13 kills. Samantha Anderson had 12 and 4 blocks. Elizabeth Armstrong had 31 assists.

UAFS falls to Black Hills State in 5 sets

The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith lost 25-13, 15-25, 20-25, 29-27, 15-2 to Black Hills State (S.D.) on Saturday at the Country Inn & Suites Invitation­al in Sioux Falls, S.D. Anna Demmer led Arkansas-Fort Smith with 20 kills. Rachel Williams and Debra Rogers had 14 and 10. Susannah Kelley had 34 assists while Demmer had eight assists.

Harding wins two

Harding University defeated Treveca Nazarene 20-25, 25-10, 25-20, 25-22 and Auburn-Montgomery 25-18, 25-14, 25-21 on Saturday in Hunstville, Ala. Harding (50) defeated Treveca Nazarene (2-1) of Nashville, Tenn., and was led by Emily Clayton with 18 kills. Rachel Heussner had 44 digs. Taylor Lake had 14 digs. Against Auburn-Montgomery (2-2), Harding was led by Emma Reeves, who had 10 kills. Huessner had 36 assists and Foster had 10 digs.

Arkansas Tech wins two in Kansas

Arkansas Tech defeated Drury and Pittsburg State on Saturday at the Washburn Invitation­al Saturday in Topeka, Kan. The Golden Suns (4-0) beat Pittsburg State 25-21, 25-13, 25-15. They were led by Hunter Eshnaur, who had 11 kills and eight digs while Lexie Johnston had 10. Amanda Milnick had 36 assists. Against Drury, the Golden Suns won 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21. Tabita Spray led Arkansas Tech with 15 kills. Milnick had 38 assists and 16 digs.

GOLF Arkansas men in sixth place

The University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le’s men’s team is in sixth place after two rounds at the Carmel Cup in Carmel, Calif. The Razorbacks has a 36-hole total of 708 (354-354). Oklahoma State leads with a 688 (338-350). Texas Tech is in second with a 691 (356-335) while Vanderbilt and Oklahoma are tied for third (700).

TCU is fifth at 702. Arkansas’ Alvaro Ortiz is tied for sixth with a 136 (70-66). Luis Garza is tied for 12th at 138 (72-66).
