MARK WAYNE ANDERSON SR., 55, of Little Rock, Ark. transition­ed September 16, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Anderson Sr. and Ellen Freeman; and sisters, Gloria and Eloise Anderson. Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lamar Anderson; children, Mark Jr., Laquan Darnell, Jason Alexander Rashaun, Katherine Ellen Michelle Anderson; seven grandchild­ren, and a host of family and friends.

He is a Marine ( United States Marine Corps) Veteran, worked at Children’s Hospital for nearly 13 years. He was the President of the Faithful Riders Motorcycle Club, and he also served as a football neighborho­od coach for the New Youth Giants known as Coach FUBU.

––––– – –––– ROSEMARY GARDNER, 87, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, September 18, 2017. She was born May 1, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota to George and Mary Hines. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the Arts and Craft Guild and the Altar Society.

She is survived by her children, George Ray Gardner, Mary Anne Thomas; grandchild­ren, Joseph Ray Gardner ( Kirsti), Kolton Ray Gardner and Gunner Hayes Gardner; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Robert Hines, Bill Hines and Mickey Lowe.

––––– – –––– MARGRIT ALINE MARIA GULLICK, 86 of Maumelle passed away Monday, September 18, 2017. She was born January 25, 1931 in Bern, Switzerlan­d to Ernst and Anna Maria Treutel Trog. She was a member of Maumelle Newcomers Club, traveled internatio­nal and spoke four languages.

She is survived by her children, Michael Keesee ( Mignon Marks), Nicole Keesee Bogard ( Judge David B. Bogard), Michelle Berubee ( Jeffrey Fluck); grandchild­ren, Daniel Berubee and Colton Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents.

––––– – –––– MYRTLE LEE HARVEY JOHNSON, the only child of the late Monroe and Lee Ethel Harvey. She departed this life September 14, 2017 at the age of 88 years. She converted at the age of 13 years old in 1943 at St. Mark Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lee Calcote and she remained a faithful and devoted member for 75 years. She was a member of the junior choir. In 1951 she joined the Senior Choir and down through the years she served as Secretary and Annual Program Chairperso­n. She was a member of Dunbar Community Center Senior Citizens Program for more than 25 years. She attended South End Elementary School and graduated from Dunbar High School in May 1948. She was united in Holy matrimony to the late Booker Johnson on November 13, 1958. She was a retired employee for Kellwood Industries over 35 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Thomas Ray ( Mickey) Harvey, of Little Rock, Ark.; eight grandchild­ren, Rosalyn Harvey- Brown, Kimberly Jones of Little Rock, Katrina Harvey- Mosby of Conway, Shaina, April and Ashley all of Little Rock, Jamaal Harvey of Nashville, Tenn., Dedrick and( Michaela) Beard of Little Rock, 10 great- grandchild­ren, Brandon, Courtney, Frank, Kiara, LaTrina, Kayuana, Kaedon, Ka’Lon, Cali, Khyla, Kaylen, Khloe, Dedrick III, and Myles; one great- greatgrand­child, Carsyn Jaye Smith; four cousins, Oreathia, Anansis, Garland and Cleophus; four stepsons, Robert, Mark, Willie and Stephan and two step- daughters, Debra and Marsha; one God daughter, Alma Smith. ––––– – –––– CAROLYN SADLER KIMBRELL, age 79, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2017. She was born August 28, 1938 to Jesse Easel and Myrtle Doss Sadler of Portland, Ark. Carolyn was a devoted wife to the late George B. Kimbrell of Parkdale and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock. She was an inspiratio­n to all who knew her and devoted to her family. Over the last several years, she faced Alzheimer’s with courage and dignity.

Carolyn is survived by two loving children, daughter, Kim Hockersmit­h ( Steve) of Little Rock and son, Brian Kimbrell ( Wendi) of Frisco, Texas; three brothers, Bobby Sadler ( Martha) of McGehee, Jimmie Sadler ( Janice) of Portland, and Jerry Sadler ( Marsha) of Springdale. The later years of her life were devoted to the joy of participat­ing in the lives and activities of her four grandchild­ren, Ashlan and Lance Hockersmit­h and Conner and Carson Kimbrell.

––––– – –––– BILLY MATHIS SR. born in the Lord’s grace on November 14, 1929, one of seven children to bless the household of Reverend Gilbert and Bervia Mathis of Little Rock. He was a longtime member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for the better part of seven decades. Mr. Mathis served as an usher for over 10 years and later served the Deacon Board for 50 years.

Mr. Mathis ran a successful Dry Cleaning business for 35 years, and his business and spirit were the cornerston­e of 1824 Wright Avenue. Additional­ly he was a Sergeant at Arms for the Arkansas State Legislatur­e, and a 33rd Degree Mason.

His departure on September 15, 2017 was the fruition of his long- held and ardent faith in a reunion with God and the loved ones who preceded him in death, his beloved wife of 58 years, Alma Mathis, his second eldest son, Gilbert; his parents; his brothers, Gilbert and Abner; his sisters, Lillie Herron, Sadie Marie Mitchell, and Clementine Rouse; and his granddaugh­ter, Tracy Palmer. His loved ones were by his side at his home going and will forever cherish his memory. They include his youngest sister, Maxine Mathis; his son, Billy Mathis, Jr, and wife Lisa of Redding, Conn.; his daughter, Michele Bailey and husband William of Little Rock; his son, Keith Mathis of Little Rock; his daughter, Dana Smith and husband Derrick also of Little Rock; and his son, Christophe­r Mathis and wife Linh of Frisco, Texas. His legacy includes 14 grandchild­ren; 10 great- grandchild­ren and scores of friends and relatives.

A celebratio­n of his life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, 11 a. m., at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 908 Cross Street, Little Rock, Ark.
