PADUCAH, Ky. — Wilma Faith Murphy Sherman, 90, of Paducah, Ky. We lost our mother, Sunday, April 23, just a month before her 91 birthday. A loyal wife, mother, and career nurse who gained her degree in Des Moines, Iowa, and went on to work in Chicago at Cook County Hospital. She was a field nurse in the polio epidemic in early 50’s and retired from the VA Hospital in Little Rock after decades of dedicated nursing. Wilma was a woman of great kindness, faith, and character. She lost her husband, Frank Hartford Sherman, of Stafford, Kan., in 1967. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte E. Sherman of Paducah, Ky.; her son Mark H. Sherman of Neola, Kan.; daughter Jeanne R. Guidi of Jackson, Tenn.; grandson Adam H. Sherman of Salida, Colo.; and sister Lorna Ruth Agard of Ankeny, Iowa. Memorials for friends and family will be held Oct. 8 in Little Rock, Ark., and Oct. 10 in Arlington, Kan. Please contact Charlotte at (270) 331-2185 for informatio­n. FORT WORTH — Lynne Jones, 87, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at her home.

Services:

12:30 p.m. Wednesday,

Sept. 27, 2017 at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Ermalyn Joyce Nease Jones was born March 26, 1930 in Mangum, Okla., the daughter of Elmer and Artie Payne Nease. She was a 1948 graduate of Gravette High School and married Billy Ray Jones in 1950. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1951. She then coached high school girls basketball in Greenville, S.C., while Bill was stationed at Donaldson AFB.

Lynne was proud of the fact that she designed and built the custom homes their family lived in while Bill worked for IBM in Little Rock, Ark., New Orleans, Louisiana, Mobile, Ala., Pittsburgh, Pa., and their final move to Westover Hills in Fort Worth in 1975. Lynne was also a Mary Kay Representa­tive for many years and acknowledg­ed that she probably gave away more than she ever sold.

She was a member of University Baptist Church and later Ridglea Baptist Church before her move to The Watermere in Southlake in 2014.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse of 58 years, Bill, and her four brothers. Survivors: Daughter, Debbie Tait and husband, Michael; son, Kerry Jones; grandchild­ren, Stephanie Singleton and husband, Damon, and Shawn Tait; great-grandchild­ren, Brady Singleton and Ashley Singleton; sister, Dorothy Fulmer; and nieces and nephews.
