A 22-year-old man shot by Little Rock police last month has been released from a hospital and charged with two felony counts in the assault of a woman, according to a report.

Little Rock police shot and wounded Jeromy Henderson on Sept. 21 after confronting him near a church located across the street from an apartment complex at 5201 Geyer Springs Road, authorities said.

Police were called to the complex around 12:15 a.m. on a report of unknown trouble, according to the department.

A woman told police that Henderson climbed through her apartment window, cut her with a knife and assault-

ed her with a broken table leg, the Police Department said in a written statement. While on the scene, police were notified that Henderson was hiding near the church across the street, according to the department.

Sgt. Zachary Farley and officer Stephen Lichti found Henderson hiding behind some wooden pallets and as they approached, he “emerged quickly with his arms extended out as if he had a weapon,” according to the statement. Both Farley and Lichti then fired, and Henderson was hit multiple times, according to the department.

Authorities have charged Henderson with first-degree domestic battery and residential burglary. He was in the Pulaski County jail late Sunday.
