At least two people were killed in interstate crashes in Arkansas on Monday and Tuesday, according to preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police.

A 38-year-old Cabot woman was killed early Tuesday and two others were injured after her vehicle overturned on Interstate 40 and was then struck by another vehicle, state police said.

It happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. just west of the JFK Boulevard exit in North Little Rock, according to a state police report.

Jennifer Jackson was driving a 2003 Chevrolet east on the interstate when the vehicle left the roadway, according to the report. Jackson overcorrected and drove into the concrete barrier, which caused the Chevrolet to overturn, the report said. It was then struck by an eastbound 1999 Jeep.

Jackson suffered fatal injuries, according to the report.

The Jeep’s driver, Brandon Kelley, 26, of Heber Springs and a passenger, Casey Sumpter, 26, of Cabot were listed as being hurt, though the report didn’t detail the extent of their injuries.

The weather was clear and roads were dry at the time of the crash, state police said.

On Monday, a 75-year-old Benton woman died and two people were hurt in a collision on Interstate 30 in Hot Spring County, authorities said.

Around 11:45 a.m., a westbound 2015 Dodge Ram hit a 2013 Honda Pilot while changing lanes around the 83 mile marker, near Friendship, according to a state police report. Both vehicles ran off the highway, with the Pilot flipping into trees and the Ram striking a tree.

Darla Kelley, a passenger in the Pilot, suffered fatal injuries. Both drivers were listed as being hurt, though the report didn’t detail the extent of their injuries. At least one of them was taken to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.

It was cloudy, but roads were dry at the time of the crash, state police reported.
