LR home invader forces ATM trips

-

After a Little Rock home invasion early Tuesday, a robber forced a resident and her 9-year-old daughter to travel to two ATMs, eventually leaving with $300 in cash and an $800 check.

The 50-year-old resident told police that a black man wearing dark clothing and a mask entered her Foxcroft Village Drive home through an open garage door around 4 a.m.

The robbery was reported to police around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the robber made his way upstairs where the woman and her

daughter were asleep.

The woman said she awoke to find the assailant shining a light in her face and wielding a knife. She reported that the robber ordered her out of bed and demanded cash.

After saying she had no money, the woman was forced to drive the assailant and her daughter to Regions Bank at 8023 Cantrell Road, where $300 was withdrawn from an ATM, the report states.

The woman said they then drove to a second ATM at OneBanc at 8000 Cantrell Road, after the robber became upset about the withdrawal limit at Regions Bank. No additional money could be withdrawn from the second bank, she told officers.

The robber became angry, which prompted the woman to offer to write him a check for $800, officers noted.

Police said a check was made out to “Dovante Gardner” before the robber fled.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday.
