Prayer rally, talks on healing are set

The Victory Over Violence Prayer Rally will be held Monday at War Memorial Stadium, 1 Stadium Drive, Little Rock.

Also, the Interfaith Center will host “From Violence to Healing … Together” an evening of dinner, dialogue, fellowship and music, at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Drive in Little Rock.

Representa­tives from different faiths, including Judaism, Christiani­ty and Islam, will discuss how their scripture has been used to promote violence, and the ways their faith traditions can create a process of healing in communitie­s. After a meal and remarks by leaders of the Abrahamic faiths and music by the Interfaith Choir, attendees will have the opportunit­y to take part in facilitate­d table conversati­ons.

Child care will be available, and children up to age 10 will be served pizza if registrati­on is completed by Oct. 15. Older children are encouraged to join a table discussion. The event is free, but registrati­on is required.
