Events around state commemorat­e WWI

Lectures, exhibits and actor portrayals of two former presidents will be among the events featured this month to commemorat­e the anniversar­y of World War I, as sanctioned by the Arkansas World War I Centennial Commemorat­ion Committee.

The Lonoke County and the Great War exhibit continues all month at the Museum of American History in Cabot, one of several war exhibits on display at various locations in the state.

The Great War: Arkansas in World War I, the Arkansas State Archives’ traveling exhibit on the war, will be at the Felix Goodson Library at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge through Oct. 22.

Stanley Lombardo will present a lecture, WWI and America: Told by the Americans Who Lived It, on Thursday at the Ross Pendergraf­t Library and Technology Center at Arkansas Tech University in Russellvil­le.

A Presidenti­al Evening with Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, featuring actors Joe Wiegand and Judd Bankert portraying the presidents as they debate America’s entry into World War I and its aftermath, will be Oct. 25 at Sturgis Hall at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock.
