ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Jo Jean Snow of Alpharetta, Ga., passed on through this life on October 15, 2017, after a brief battle with liver cancer. She was 60 years old. Born Joe Jean Cotten on Groundhog Day (Feb. 2, 1957) to Vencie and Eddie Cotten of McComb, Miss., Jo moved to Little Rock, Arkansas as a little girl in the early ’60s. Along with her siblings, Jo accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church. Jo graduated from Parkview High School in 1976 and soon afterwards enrolled in University of Arkansas Little Rock where she acted in school plays and joined the college dance team. She then danced her way into the heart of co-student Larry Snow, and eloped with him to Knoxville Tennessee in 1979. After Larry completed his Ph.D, in 1985 the Snows moved to the suburbs of Atlanta which would remain the home for their new family for the remainder of her days. A great reader and movie buff who loved gardening, cooking, travel and eating out, Jo had a magnetic personality and all were deeply impacted upon knowing her.

In addition to her parents Eddie and Vencie, Jo is preceded in death by a brother (Joe Bryant of N. Little Rock), aunt (Ethyl Mae Holmes of Arlington, Texas) and uncle (LS McMorris, McComb, Miss.). She leaves to cherish her loving memory a husband (Dr. Larry Snow of Alpharetta, Ga.), sons, Michael Snow (Angelica), Alpharetta; Marcus Snow (Victoria), Alpharetta, Ga.; two sisters, Shirley Wilburn and Ruthie Dillahunty, North Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Dewayne Cotten (Caletha), Grayson, Ga.; Bernell Thompson (Marie), Milwaukee, Wis.; three nephews, Reggie and Scottie Thompson, Milwaukee, Wis.; Joe Bryant Jr., Little Rock, Ark.; four nieces, Arnell Bryant, Cassandra Hunter, and Roxie Bryant, Little Rock, Ark.; Amari Cotten, Grayson, Ga.; and a host of extended family, good friends, and acquaintances.
