MARY ELLEN MARTIN BUTLER of Mabelvale, Ark., was born Christmas Day 1934, to the late Corbet and Elsie Martin in Rosie, Ark. She was a member of

New Hope Nazarene Church in Landmark. She loved her church and spending time with her family. She was also a breast cancer survivor.

Mrs. Butler passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at her home at the age of 82.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Burchfield; sons, Jim Burchfield and Jackie Butler; and grandsons, Luke and Aaron Burchfield; and her sister, Patsy Wyatt.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Butler; son, Jerry Butler (Tami); daughters, Julie Walters (Horace), Janice Calaway (Byron), Tina Gulutzo (Steve), Janie Moore (Kelly), and JoAnn Butler (Gavin); 12 grandchild­ren and 18 great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 at New Hope Nazarene Church in Landmark with Bro. George Yarberry and Bro. Ralph Nelson officiatin­g. Burial will be at 1 p.m., at Kyler Cemetery in Batesville. Visitation will be 5–7 p.m., Monday at the church.

Oct. 19, 2017. She was born in January 1930 in Glen

Ridge, N.J.

Patricia grew up in Auburndale, Mass. She graduated from Wellesley College and received her master’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She taught in the Little Rock School District for 25 years.

Patricia said numerous times she had a charmed life. She lived in Rio de Janeiro for three years during her high school years. She married “the boy next door” in 1951; they were married for 62 years. She loved her family home in Nova Scotia, Canada, and was able to spend every summer there while she was teaching; she and her husband spent six months there every summer after retiring in 1992. Patricia was very active in the Anglican Church in Sandy Cove, Nova Scotia. She was an accomplish­ed Nova Scotian rug hooker and avid reader. She loved spending time with her family and many friends both in Little Rock and Nova Scotia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Everett, and grandchild­ren, Jenny Lavender and Kevin Birkhead. Patricia is survived by her children, Karen Richards of Bryant,

Gail Lavender (Jim) of Bryant, Albert Everett of Little Rock, and Jill Everett of Haskell; and grandchild­ren, Stephanie Richards, Max Richards, Mike Lavender (Jennifer), Ashley Lavender, Lara Lavender, and Jessica Birkhead.

–––––❖––––– WILLA BEA DILLON GIMBLET, 94 of North Little Rock passed away on Oct. 21, 2017. She was born June 30,

1923 in North Little Rock and lived all her life there.

Bea graduated from North Little

Rock High School and worked for

Worthen Bank as an elevator operator and also with an Insurance company. Bea met the love of her life when the 35th Infantry Division was activated in 1941 and sent to Camp Robinson for a year of training. When WWII started she married Noah A. “Buster” Gimblet, and followed him to California, Alabama, and North Carolina before he left for England and then Europe. Bea returned home and awaited his return. After the war they had a son Ronald, and later moved to Camp Robinson to live in a renovated military building. This was the happiest period in her life as she was close to family and friends.

She loved square dancing, Bowling, Sewing, Gardening, and just exploring Camp Robinson.

Bea is survived by her son Ronald (Elaine) Gimblet; brothers, Billy (Betty) Dillon, Bobby (Darlene) Dillon, and Reccie (Elizabeth) Dillon; a grandson, Aaron (Jessica) Gimblet; and step-grandkids, Brandon Eubanks, Meredith Snow, Brent Phillips, Susy Chandler, and Jayme Sturgeon.

We wish to thank the staff at Good Shepard for the love and support they gave her during the last two years of her life and also Robinson Nursing and Rehab and Kindred Hospice during her last few days. She and Buster can now spend eternity together.

Vestal enjoyed traveling sewing, quilting, crafts and bowling.

She is survived by her husband, Billy V. She was born

April 30, 1916 in Jacksonvil­le to the late Sam and

Edna Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clyde

Jennings Sr., and her brother Rufus Taylor. Mrs.

Jennings was a lifelong resident of Jacksonvil­le and the longest standing member of First United Methodist Church of Jacksonvil­le.

Burnell devoted much time and love to her family.

She is survived by her children, Clyde (Pat) Jennings, Jr., Betty (Sammy) Owens, Sam (Elaine) Jennings, Joyce Jennings-Pineda; nine grandchild­ren, 13 great-grandchild­ren and six great-great-grandchild­ren.

Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark., after a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer for nearly

10 years. She was born to Calvin and Betty Mumma McCarty on

March 30, 1952 in Garden City, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of Central United Method Church in Fayettevil­le, Ark., and very much enjoyed the spiritual fulfillmen­t and friendship­s gained from her Sunday school classes throughout the years at Central.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wayne Britt and three children, Michael Britt and his wife Pamela of Fayettevil­le and their three children Ella, Juliana and Hudson; Matthew Britt and his wife Ruth of Fayettevil­le and their daughter Sinclair with Lucy Jean expected to arrive in January; Mallory and her husband Virgil Gulley of Fayettevil­le, and her sister Regena Bolin and her husband Keith of Elkins, Ark.

At a young age, her family relocated from Kansas to a farm in Lincoln, Ark., where she was raised and graduated from high school. Her connection with the beautiful country in and around Lincoln continued throughout her life. She was a regular volunteer and supporter of the Arkansas Country Doctor Museum in Lincoln, the annual family reunion was held at the Prairie Grove Battlefiel­d Park, she and her family were regular attendees at the Arkansas Apple Festival in Lincoln each October, and an annual scholarshi­p in her name is given to a graduating female recipient at Lincoln high school each Spring.

Due to her selfless and caring nature, there was no better person to have in your life for love, advice, friendship or just someone to listen. As the first priority, her family felt that love and care each and every day. She touched many lives while volunteeri­ng locally to help others in their fight with cancer while she waged her own battle with the disease. She also participat­ed in a nationwide program with MD Anderson hospital in Houston, Texas as a “phone buddy” to cancer patients undergoing similar treatments and counseled patients regularly as far away as Maine and Seattle, Wash. An impeccable chef, her many traditiona­l dishes enjoyed over the decades were always prepared with care, finished right on time and incredibly delicious. That same care was given to her many plants and flowers she meticulous­ly cared for on a daily basis. Those flowers, along with anyone she cared for, flourished with beautiful blooms due to her loving care.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 5-7 p.m., at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 4520 N. Crossover Road, Fayettevil­le. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 25 at 1 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le with a reception immediatel­y after at Central. Her final resting place will be the Bethesda Cemetery in Cane Hill, Ark., on a majestic hill near the family farm on which she was raised.

–––––❖––––– LONOKE — Grace Joy Bagwell, age 89, of Lonoke, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Oct. 20, 2017. She was born to the late Elmore Carlee George and Hattie Zastrow in North Little Rock, on Aug. 16, 1928. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rodger Earl Bagwell.

Grace was blessed with five beautiful children whom she loved very much and she enjoyed devoting her time to her family. She was a member of the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke.

Grace is survived by four sons, James Robert (Jean) Bagwell, Michael Earl Bagwell, Rodger Arthur (Sue) Bagwell, Danny Sidney Bagwell; one daughter, Patricia Ann Whitaker; one sister, Alice Reynolds, nine grandchild­ren and 16 great-grandchild­ren, along with a host of family and friends.

Sue had formerly worked at the Employment Office of Hot Springs. She had a gift for gardening, and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed expressing herself in painting and quilting. She and her late husband Pender, loved traveling as well. Her greatest joy was making sweet memories with her family.

Mrs. McCool died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at Alcoa Pines Health and Rehabilita­tion, in Benton, Ark., at the age of 76. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Pender” McCool, who died June 9, 2017, a grandson, William Joe McCool, brothers, Odell Webb, Lyndell Webb, Orville Webb, and Vernard Webb.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Brett William and Linda McCool of Hot Springs, Traye Douglas and Alisha McCool of Greenbrier; daughter and son-in-law, Joni Carol and George Lee of Little Rock; brothers, Don Parker of Rogers, Lionel Webb of Alexander, and Charles Webb of Poyen; sisters, Marguerite Morrison of Fort Smith, and Carolyn Stuckey of Poyen; seven grandchild­ren and seven great-grandchild­ren.
