Mr. COLUMBUS LINCOLN ABRAMS Jr., 73, of Little Rock, was born to Columbus Lincoln Abrams Sr. and Lucy Stewart Abrams on

June 17, 1944.

Now his journey has ended. Columbus made his entrance through death into eternal life on Monday, October 23, 2017.

Columbus had 38 years of sobriety and supported thousands with words of encouragem­ent and celebratio­n through his “birthday ministry.” For the last 26 years, Columbus called well over 5,000 people each year to celebrate their birthday, sobriety milestones, and anniversar­ies. Columbus was extremely thoughtful and always found opportunit­ies to help others and spread joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Earl Abrams. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Morris Abrams; sister, Jacqueline (Carl) Hampton of Morrilton; son, Columbus Lincoln Abrams, III of New Plymouth, New Zealand; daughters, Angela Abrams Hazzard of Little Rock and Amanda Abrams (Sanford) Johnson of Clarksdale, Miss.; and grandchild­ren, Baylee, Lauren, Morris, Madison, Lorelei, Michael, and Ava.

A family visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2017, at 6-7:30 p.m. and homegoing service will be Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. with additional visitation starting at 9:45 a.m. Both services will be at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock (1400 S. Ringo). Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Pine Bluff (2407 Commerce Circle).

High School in

2004 and went on to further his education at Pulaski Tech receiving an Associate’s Degree in Arts.

He completed flight training with Central

Flying Service in May 2012 obtaining his Fixed Wing License. Justin joined the Army National Guard as a PFC in 2012, as a UH60 Helicopter Repairer, where he conducted training in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. In 2014, he attended initial Rotary Wing Training at Ft. Rucker, Ala., and became a UH60 Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot. He returned to North Little Rock, Ark., where he was an Aviator for B6 2-285 Aviation Regiment (Assault).

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Crystal; two children, Syandene and Davis; parents, Preston and Nina Ashley, LR; three sisters, Leronda (Frank) Paige, LR, Angela (Christophe­r) Moten, Houston, Texas, and Karin (Gerald), Sherwood, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Ann, Jacksonvil­le, Fla.; two brothers, Preston Jr., Jacksonvil­le, Fla., and Christophe­r, NLR, Ark.; three aunts, Sharon McGary, Wanda Dorsey and Shelia Grind; one great-aunt, Geneva Williams; 10 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

JACK W. KIRKWOOD, 86, born in Little Rock, March 22, 1931, to Ralph W. Kirkwood and Montie (Snow) Kirkwood, passed on October 21,

2017, from the loving arms of his wife of 45 years, to the waiting arms of our heavenly father.

Jack worked for Southweste­rn Bell Telephone for 41 years and loved every minute. After retiring, he could be found on a golf course, fishing with friends or even watching his beloved Razorbacks or Cowboys. He had been a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church for the past 35 years. Jack touched those around him in a quiet way, but his influence was powerful and lasting. He will be greatly missed by all he encountere­d throughout his life.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman W. Kirkwood, who passed before Jack’s birth; and a grandson, Justin Darter. He is survived by his wife, Faye Kirkwood; daughters, Roxanne Aftanas (Dave), Vickie Darter (David) and Charlene Williams (Bob); grandchild­ren, Robert and Josh Williams, Sarah Moore, Alyssa and Addy Aftanas; and five great-grandchild­ren.

Rev. BETTY ANN EMBREY ROBERTSON, 88, passed away October 25, 2017.

She was born

March 9, 1929 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the daughter of

Blake and Anna

Louise Andres Embrey. She was a retired

United Methodist clergywoma­n and elder. She graduated from Fort Smith (Northside) High School, Fort Smith Junior College (University of Arkansas Fort Smith), and the University of Arkansas Little Rock with a BA in Elementary Education. She then earned a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theologica­l Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee.

Betty Ann substitute­d in elementary schools in Fort Smith, taught third grade at Jefferson Elementary in Little Rock and at Smackover Elementary in Smackover, Arkansas. She was director of education at Western Hills United Methodist Church in Little Rock and at the Batesville South Parish in Batesville. She pastored United Methodist churches in Tumbling Shoals, Cedar Grove, Crawfordsv­ille and Salem-Viola in Fulton County, taught Disciple Bible Study classes, served on several United Methodist Conference Committees, including Finance and Administra­tion, Education, the Board of Diaconal Ministry and served as District Coordinato­r of Children’s Ministries. She was a past president of Chapters BD, DB, I of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and a national officer in the Delta Beta Sigma Sorority.

Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rev. Robert Wilson Robertson. She is survived by her children, Dr. Blake Robertson and wife, Dr. Charlotte Robertson, of Springdale and Diana Myklebust and husband, Mark, of Maumelle; sister, Marian Bartlett of Russellvil­le; grandchild­ren, Matthew Robert Myklebust and wife, Melanie, Mary Kay Myklebust-Steves, Jonathan Blake Robertson and Stephen Lane; and great-grandchild­ren, Logan Robertson, Ashtyn and Coltyn Lane, Morgan, Mason and Maddox Myklebust, and Victoria Myklebust-Steves; and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, October 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Greg Schick. A reception will follow. JANA PERCEFULL GRAVES WILSON, 84, entered into eternal peace on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Jana was born in Kerr, Arkansas on December 1, 1932 to Everett and Ruth Matthews Percefull. She graduated from Bigelow High School then went on to graduate from Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) in 1954. She taught in Missouri and Arkansas schools as well as worked as an Assistant Extension Home Economist. However, she took the most joy in her role as a mother and homemaker.

Jana was strong in her faith and lived it daily. She loved to teach Bible study and attend Perpetual Adoration at her church. She had been a member of Women’s Aglow Internatio­nal since 1975, and had held offices on local and area boards for the Aglow Ministry. Sharing her love for the Lord was the main mission of her life.

Jana was predecease­d by her parents and her infant sister, Peggy; her first husband, Carl O. Graves; and her second husband, Herbert R. Wilson. She is survived by her three siblings, John D. Percefull (Betty), Robert L. Percefull (Carol), and Ruth E. McBurney (Millard “Mac”); her four children; Denise Graves, Carla Graves LeMay (Jon), Mark Graves (Susan), Suzanne Graves Whitener; and her two stepchildr­en, David Wilson (Debbie) and Malinda Wilson Smith. She was “GranJana” to 13 grandchild­ren and 13 great-grandchild­ren.
