RIVER TOWN PAWN

Staff take pleasure in helping loyal customers

-

There are those who work strictly for a paycheck and for the personal solace of having a big bank account, and there are those who enjoy working simply for the delight of meeting and helping others.

At River Town Pawn in Conway, customers will find a friendly staff with the attitude of the latter, and with the client’s best interest always in mind. Manager Mike Nevins opened the pawn shop five years ago with the goal of helping himself enjoy retirement.

“My goal was to open a one-man shop for my retirement because while I was retiring, I’m not the kind of person to be tired. I still like meeting people, visiting with people and helping people. We opened one shop I knew quite a bit about (the firearms and stuff;) and then the other half is a pawn shop, the oldest form of lending on planet Earth,” he said.

Nevins added that it brings him joy to be able to help all kinds of people with their finances. He explained that over 40 million Americans do not or cannot keep a bank account and need help from time to time.

River Town Pawn reaches banking-industry requirements on security, Truth In Lending Act documents and much more. This can allow its customers to have peace of mind that their information, items and money are all safe and secure with the pawn shop.

Nevins said the shop tries to do the best job possible for everybody, and his customers can trust in the secure business. He also said his favorite part about the business is the people he gets to meet.

“[I love] getting to meet a wide variety of people,” he said. “The word ‘wide’ isn’t really big enough. [I get to meet people with all types of] employment, from doctors attorneys to folks that just work in common day-to-day jobs. We get to see them and enjoy visiting with them and helping them.”
