FAULKNER & VAN BUREN COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM
Library offers unique learning experiences
The Faulkner & Van Buren County Library System offers the community a variety of family-friendly fun with more than books. From establishing the first seed library in Arkansas to clog-dancing classes, the staff goes above and beyond to make it more than an ordinary library system. Other special events feature evenings with authors, health classes, concerts and much more.
The Faulkner & Van Buren County Library System, headquartered in Conway, has five branches — Greenbrier, Mayflower, Mount Vernon, Twin Groves and Vilonia, as well as two libraries in Van Buren County — Clinton and Damascus. The library system offers a wide selection of children’s, youngadult and adult materials to suit many tastes, as well as free e-book checkout. The Faulkner County Library is home to the Urban Farm Project. What started as a gardening competition between the three Conway institutions of higher education grew into a collaborative effort to foster sustainability and community. The Urban Farm Project includes a community garden, located immediately north of the library, as well as a garden club and special events.
On Nov. 3-5, the Conway library will host ComiConway, a weekend event including special guests such as actor Alan Harris from Return of the Jedi and much more. To learn more, visit comiconway.com.
Each library hosts its own events and learning opportunities. Watch the library’s Facebook page or visit www. fcl.org for information on upcoming dates and times. All events and services are free and open to the public.
