Beebe Retirement Center

- By Sarah DeClerk

For some folks, a rewarding career is one in which they can make an impact on their community by caring for others. That is certainly the case for Christie Ruhter, licensed nursing home administrator at Beebe Retirement Center, who said that helping people is one of the highlights of her job.

Ruhter worked in nursing before she became an administrator. She said that she made the switch in order to make a difference in the lives of others, and that her experience with direct patient care makes her a valuable asset as an administrator.

She began working with nursing homes at a facility in Manila, where she worked for about a year before moving to another nursing home in Maumelle. Two months ago, she joined the staff at Beebe Retirement Center.

Ruhter lives in Cabot. She has been married to her husband for four years, and they have a three-year-old daughter.

To excel at her job, Ruhter said she must utilize her leadership skills to handle the daily challenges of running a health care facility. Her vigilance and attention to detail also allow her to shine in one of the most regulated industries in America.

She added that her career is a special calling for her, and she strives to provide upper-level care to her patients.

Beebe Retirement Center is located a 709 McAfee Lane in Beebe. For more information, call 501-882-3313.
