Legacy Jewelers

Legacy Jewelers

- By Sarah DeClerk

As Cabot’s only jewelry store, Legacy Jewelers works to serve the local community by embodying the values of family and tradition.

Owner Cathy Miller founded the shop in 2011, after working 39 years at Abdin Jewelers in Jacksonville. The establishment’s name pays homage to the skills she has learned and the customers she has served during her decades of work.

She said that owning a community jewelry store allows her and her associates to understand the needs and wants of her customers. The shop helps customers create their own legacy by offering restoration, repair and redesign of family heirlooms and other treasures. Legacy Jewelers also offers an extensive line of jewelry, as well as Seiko watches and Seiko Melodies in Motion clocks.

Miller said creating relationships with customers is the most rewarding part of her work. She added that recently, she was honored to order a high school class ring for a longtime customer’s grandson, making him the fifth generation of that family to have shopped with her.

Miller works at the store alongside her daughter, Tracy Garner. Garner has worked at the store for 17 years, and she said it’s been great to learn the jewelry business inside and out from her mom, who is her mentor as well as a wonderful parent. Garner added that her favorite part of the business is getting to play a part in the history and emotion that each piece represents, especially the custom-designed pieces.

“To be able to connect with someone on that level is amazing,” she said.
