ELMER “BUD” FRANKLIN CAUDELL, 62, of Woodson died Friday, October 27, 2017. Services are 10 a.m., Thursday, November 2 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. BERNADINE CHERRY, 90, of Maumelle, died on October 29, 2017. She was born on January 30, 1927 in Latimer, Iowa. Bernadine leaves her two sons, Jim (Vivian) Cherry and Rex (Debbie) Cherry, grandchild­ren, Michelle Replogle, James E. Cherry, Meridee Eckert and Brian Cherry, six great-grandchild­ren. FRED GIBSON, 91, passed away October 29, 2017. He was born May 21, 1926 to the late Fred and Fannie Gibson. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Presley and Otis and niece Mary Ann Hutcherson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Hazel Meritt Gibson, nieces Jeannie Bynum and Vickie Garlington.

Fred was a life long member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Fred and Presley owned Gibson’s Variety Store in the Sweet Home Community.

MICHAEL RODNEY GRIFFITHS, age 59, of Alexander, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. He was born in Groton, Connecticu­t on August 16, 1958 to Rodney and Donna Griffiths. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a partner of Rib Crib in Benton, Arkansas and was the previous owner of Julie’s Restaurant in Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Donald Griffiths. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sarah Stone Griffiths; his children, Graham Michael, Grace Cayley, and Ann Gayle; his mother; one sister; several nieces and nephews; other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Bryant, 508 N. Reynolds Road, Bryant, Arkansas officiated by Rev. BETTY LEE GRIGGS, born February 10, 1930, to the late Lee O. and Deloris Woods of Datto, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Griggs who died in 2007; a son, Roy Lee Fenimore who died June 17, 1950; daughters, Carolyn Blackburn who died in October of 1992; Linda McCorkle who died in 2011; and Laure Hubbard who died in March of 2016; two grandchild­ren, Cherry Ann Hubbard and Sunday Christiann Fenimore-Baldwin. Mrs. Griggs is survived by sisters, Ruth Ellis of Little Rock; Nancy Ellis of Hardy, Arkansas; sons, Kenneth Wanye Fenimore and James Clifford Griggs both of Little Rock; and her daughter, Patricia L. White of Sherwood.

BOBBIE LEE HARRIS, 81, passed away October 30, 2017 in Bryant, Ark. Born to Sam and Thelma Harris May 21, 1936 in Pine Bluff, Ark. MAGGIE “ALLENE” NALLEY went to be with her Lord on October 28, 2017. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Robert Nalley, Jr. (Carol) and James Nalley, and four daughters, Karen Martin, Connie Nalley, Patricia Grzandziel (Richard) and Kimberly Nalley. Allene also leaves behind 16 grandchild­ren and 18 great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Nalley.

Allene was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Scott, Arkansas. Although not active, her joy for the Lord was always present. In life she enjoyed numerous hobbies such as photograph­y, reading, writing and quilting. However, her fondest joy was traveling and spending time with her family.

HARRELL SMEAD PYLE of North Little Rock, passed away on October 28, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born October 23, 1928 in Eldorado, Arkansas. He was raised around east Texas towns, including areas around Wright City and Tyler.

He served three years in the United States Air Force, studied electrical engineerin­g at Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana, worked many years as an electrical engineer for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corp. in St. Louis, Missouri and for Entergy Operations at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station near Port Gibson, Mississipp­i.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Eulah Pyle: two sisters, Virginia Houston and Imogene; and brother, Melvin. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita – formerly Juanita Steffens. Somehow he knew that he loved her when they first met - he told her so. She didn’t believe him… Later in life, he referred to her as “the jewel of Chester” – she was the most precious thing he had found in her home town of Chester, Illinois.

He is also survived by three sons: Steven and wife Linda of Cleveland, Ohio; Mark and wife Judy of Richardson, Texas; and Brian and wife Teresita of Sherwood, Arkansas; five grandchild­ren, Thomas, Elizabeth, Sara, Tracy, and Jennifer, one great-grandson, Xander; brother, Jerry and wife April of Terrell, Texas, brother-in-law, Jack Houston of Larue, Texas; and a host of nieces & nephews.

LILIANE SMART of Sherwood, Ark. passed away October 27, 2017 peacefully. Lily was born January 25, 1932 to Eli Azoulay and Esther Abilbol Azoulay in Rabat, Morocco. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry Oliver Smart, her son-in-law Steve Roetzel, and her parents. Lily is survived by her two daughters, Pat Roetzel of Mansfield, Texas, Sandra Daniel and her husband Mark of Jacksonvil­le, Ark, her son Steve Smart and his wife Lisa of Mocksville, N.C. She is also survived by seven grandchild­ren, Jennifer Sharp (Michael), Ryan Roetzel (Angelica), Amy and Caleb Daniel, Britni Grammer, Paige and Summer Smart, as well as five great-grandchild­ren, Isabel, Ricky, Angelina, Jackson and Samantha; her sisters Denise Geismar , Charlotte Schiffmann both of Tel Aviv, Israel, Jackie Larson of Pensacola, Fla., Rachel Sobel (Raoul), Yolande Wiseman (Shalom) all of London England, Hugette Wieselberg (Michael) of Jerusalem, Israel; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smart was a bookkeeper many years in different locations as she and Jerry were transferre­d by the U.S. Air Force. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking and baking for her family and friends always putting others first. She would tell you her most important accomplish­ment was being a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. There was nothing more important to her than her family. She took great pride in pampering her loved ones.

MONA L. WAMSLEY of Sherwood left this life on October 26, 2017 to join with Her Savior in a new life. She was born on January 15, 1933, the only daughter of Robert John and Gertrude Langton. She was born in Prospect Park, Pennsylvan­ia, and attended local schools there. She soon married Don, her long time sweetheart. While raising a family, she traveled many states and one overseas tour while accompanyi­ng her husband on his military career. Mona loved all kinds of handicraft works. Over the years she enjoyed selling Tupperware, Jewelry and Avon. Until her later years she was very active in Eastern Star. After her family was raised she worked for the North Little Rock School District as a school bus driver retiring in 1992. She loved the lakes, especially Lake Ouachita where they enjoyed house boating for many years. Mona especially loved her Personal Watercraft. Upon leaving Sherwood for a short time they enjoyed an R/V and traveled many parts of the United States and Canada.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Donald Wamsley Sr. of Sherwood, her brother, Willard Langton (Dorothy) of Lancaster, Pennsylvan­ia, her sons, Harold D. Wamsley Jr. (Barbara) of Simpsonvil­le, South Carolina, Duane L. Wamsley (Barbara) of Rapid City, South Dakota and Dale L. Wamsley (Linda) of North Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchild­ren and 14 great-grandchild­ren.

Mona survived several major illnesses and operations in her life time. She fought dementia for many years until it finally took her life. She will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.
