Tess was a kind, loving woman who never met a stranger and warmed the lives of her children, grandchildren and many friends. Tess always had a twinkle in her eye, a ready word of kindness and an infectious sense of humor.
She was born to Leslie Messick and Minnie Cox in Fort Worth, Texas. As a teenager Tess moved to California where she met Edward Maupins whom she married and they had three children together. Tess was a devoted and hard working mother who never failed to support, cherish and nurture her children. Upon retirement she and her husband Ed moved from Alaska to Cleveland, Ark., where they enjoyed their farm, fish pond and numerous pets.
Tess Maupins is survived by two devoted daughters, Debbie Case and Terry Thompson and her loving son John Maupins all of Port Lavaca, Texas. Tess is also survived by her brother Lawrence Messick and his wife Karla Messick, her brother-in-law John Maupins and six grandchildren, Christina Roemer, Jordan Case, Mason Maupins, Tully Maupins, Amelia Thompson and Carrie Thompson and a great-grandchild, Kinsely Case.
Tess was an avid dog lover and in lieu of flowers her family asks that you make memorial contributions to the Calhoun County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1505 Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
Tess’ family would like to encourage you to join them for a visitation to be held on November 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Cleveland Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, Copeland Cave Road, Cleveland, Ark.
