ELIZABETH AGAR EAST PATRICK HURLEY COUCH
Elizabeth Agar East and Patrick Hurley Couch were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Bear Island Farm in Scott, the bride’s family farm. The Rev. Lynn Lindsey of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church officiated.
Cynthia and Robert Cashion East of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Ruth and Dr. Drew Agar and the late Dot and Louis East, all of Little Rock.
Parents of the groom are Nancy Hurley Huckabay of Little Rock and James Leland Couch of Richmond, Va. His grandparents are the late Beatrice and Harvey Couch Jr. of Little Rock and the late Janet and Harry H. Hurley of Kirkwood, Mo.
The outdoor ceremony took place in a grove of oaks along the Arkansas River. A tall floral arch of grapevine, smilax, seeded eucalyptus and magnolia held groupings of white garden roses, peonies and hydrangeas along with accents of peach, blush and deep red garden roses. Music was by the Ozark Point Brass Quintet.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a light gold fit-and-flare gown with an overlay of textured netting and lace appliques. The overlay had cap sleeves and jewel neckline and extended to a scalloped lace hem. Her veil was a family heirloom.
Natalie Sanderson of Little Rock was maid of honor and wore a red dress in the style of her choice.
Flower girls were Evie East of Fayetteville, niece of the bride, and Cora Couch of Fayetteville and Harper Couch of Little Rock, nieces of the groom. Ring bearer was Henry Couch of Fayetteville, nephew of the groom.
Ren Bressinck of Little Rock was best man. Guests were seated by Cash East of Fayetteville, brother of the bride; and Justin Couch of Fayetteville and Leland Couch of Little Rock, brothers of the groom.
A reception was on the grounds of the farm and in the barn, which was illuminated with antique chandeliers reflected in an eclectic collection of mirrors. Guest tables in the tents and barn alternated towering and low arrangements of hydrangeas, peonies and garden roses in wooden, brass and crystal vessels. Accents of lichen-covered branches, pods, antlers and berries were incorporated throughout. Music was by Al Paris and the Heartbreakers of Memphis. Assisting were Catherine, Caroline and Mary Patton Meyer of Eudora and Web Brown and Benton Brown of Marion, all cousins of the bride.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Louisiana State University and is donors relations manager for The Arkansas Nature Conservancy.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He is a regional service quality adviser at Oil States Energy Services.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will live in Little Rock.
