LR gunfire leaves 2 men shot in feet
Two men were wounded Wednesday in a Little Rock shooting, police said.
Officer Steve Moore, a Little Rock police spokesman, said the two victims showed up at Arkansas Children’s Hospital around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Each man was shot in the foot and did not have life-threatening injuries, he said.
The wounded men reported that the shooting occurred in the area of West 33rd and South Chester streets, he said.
The men, according to Moore, declined to provide further information about the shooting, but told police they did not want to press charges.
Moore said police are investigating whether Wednesday’s double shooting is connected to a shooting Tuesday that injured a 17-year-old boy. He said the reported locations of the shootings are near each other.
In Tuesday’s shooting, officers were called to Arkansas Children’s Hospital about 9 p.m., where the teenager was being treated for a gunshot wound in his lower right calf, according to a police report. His injuries were described as nonlife-threatening.
The teen told authorities that he had been shot near 32nd and Izard streets while walking home from Crump Park. He said a vehicle made a U-turn in the street, and the driver began shooting.
Officers later established a crime scene in the 900 block of West 32nd Street, according to the report.
The boy’s mother told police the teen had left home around 5 p.m.
Authorities previously reported that the victim was 15.
Police had named no suspects or made any arrests in the case.
