Southeaste­rn Film Critics pick year’s best

This is not a normal week.

We’ve got seven movies opening this week and, as of now, none opening the week after. So some of our reviews will be shorter than usual. And some — I don’t know which ones yet — will probably be relegated to the blood, dirt & angels blog (which is at blooddirta­ngels.com).

And then there’s this. The Southeaste­rn Film Critics Associatio­n, the critics group Karen Martin and I belong to (Conway’s Noel Murray is a member as well) voted last weekend, and I’m duty bound to report the results. Normally I’d comment on the results and tell you how Karen and I voted, but to conserve valuable newsprint I’m going to put those ballots on the blog too. Except for my Top 10, which I’ll save for my New Year’s Eve Critical Mass column.

And over the next few weeks, we’ll be running Top 10 lists from all over, including from other lo-
