Arlen was preceded in death by his wives, Doris and Melba; sons, Keith Crass and Henry McCombs; daughter-in-law Beth Gaddy McCombs; brothers, Arthur Crass and Denton Harris and sisters, Nettie Judkins and Vanrue Hurst.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Crass and his wife, Cathy, of Little Rock; four grandsons, Will Crass of Little Rock, Ted Crass of Abilene, Texas, William McCombs and his wife Jamie of White Hall, Michael McCombs of Pine Bluff and two great-grandsons, Jack and Andrew McCombs.

The family would like to give special thanks to Grandy’s loving caregivers over the past few years: Corey Murry, Sheila Johnson, Tara Thrower, Brenda Gaddy, Tarlise Amos, Anthony Banister and Demetrius Tripp.

A private Funeral Service will be under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors in Pine Bluff.

–––––❖––––– PLUMERVILL­E — Jimmy Dale Campbell, age 75, of Plumervill­e, Ark., passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. He was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Senath, Mo., a son of the late I.D. Campbell and Cora Gordon Campbell. He was a farmer and a member of the Portland Missionary Baptist Church. He was a former Alderman for the city of Plumervill­e, former Chief of the Plumervill­e Fire Department, and a former Police Commission­er.

Survivors include his daughter, Kelli (Howard) Smith of Plumervill­e; son, Chris (Jennifer) Campbell of Plumervill­e; grandchild­ren, Miranda Smith, Kaci Smith, Regenia Jones, Samantha Campbell, Aaron Campbell, John Smith, and Paul Smith; five great-grandchild­ren; brother, Jerry (Jo Ann) Campbell of Plumervill­e; and sister, Della Matlock of Catron, Mo. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Watkins Campbell; one sister; and four brothers.

–––––❖––––– SEARCY — Deborah Lynn Hardin, 61, of Searcy, died Sunday, Dec. 17. She was born Feb. 11, 1956 in Searcy, Ark., to Edward and Juanita (Johnson) Hardin. Deborah is survived by her mother, Juanita Hardin; son, Terrence Berry of Chicago; daughter, LaMonika Bannister and husband, Anthony of Philadelph­ia; grandchild­ren, Corah, David and Mikaylah Bannister; brothers, Edward Hardin Jr., Keith Hardin and Steve Hardin; nephews, Michael Edwards and Jordan Hardin; nieces, Taya Hardin and Tamara Hardin-Belton. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Hardin; brother, Raymond Hardin; sister, Judy Hardin. ––––– ––––– SEARCY — Herbert A. “Herb” Schroeder, age 85, of Searcy, was born Oct. 16, 1932, to August and Bertha Schroeder and passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017.

Herb was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r, and neighbor. For many years, he was actively involved in his community, church, farming, and organizati­ons. Herb was a Charter Member and an Elder at his church, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Searcy.

He is survived by three children; Kim Schroeder and wife, Jenese of Lonoke, Vicki Pierce and husband, Larry of Aromas, Calif., and Howell Schroeder and wife, Danielle of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchild­ren, Kim Schroeder Jr., Nicholas Schroeder, Audrey Bullock, Hayden Schroeder, Zach Lange and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

Herb is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Betty; sisters, Clara Schuetts, Alma Halford, Martha Halford; brothers, Raymond Schroeder and Willard Schroeder.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2610 S. Main St., Searcy, Ark., 72143.

–––––❖––––– SEARCY — Wilburn “Slim” Strayhorn, 95, of Searcy, Ark., went to heaven, Dec. 22, 2017 to be with Evelyn (2013), his wife of 66 years. They were married Valentine’s Day 1946.

Wilburn loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a World War II veteran and received several medals including a Purple Heart. He retired from AP&L in Searcy.

Wilburn is survived by his sister, Geneva Haley of Judsonia; brother-in-law; Buddy Phillips (Jane) of Searcy; sister-in-law, Dorothy Phillips of Searcy; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thanks goes to his caregivers (he loved you) and to his Veterans Administra­tion Health Care team. We couldn’t have done it without you. He will be missed.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26th from 5-7 p.m. at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 27th at 10 a.m. at White County Memorial Gardens.

–––––❖––––– SHIRLEY — Ruel Allen Casey, age 75, of Shirley, Ark., passed away on Dec. 4,

2017. Born on

Feb. 18, 1942 in Clarkedale, Ark., he was the son of the late John Taylor Casey and Iola Martin Casey.

Ruel was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfathe­r, he had been employed as a Chief Engineer on an oil vessel. He was a United States Army and Navy Veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion and was affectiona­tely known as “The Avon Guy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jerry Casey, Jimmy Casey, Charlie Casey and Robert Casey.

He is survived by his wife Jackie Ellen Burbridge Casey; his children Matt Casey and his wife Dianna, Clint Riggan and his wife Julie and Veronica Impson and her husband Mike; his grandchild­ren Matthew Casey, Steven Casey, Jason Casey, Anna Riggan, Lauren Riggan, Kayten Roy, Tripp Harris and Townes Impson; his sister Susan Casey and his brothers Johnny Casey, Stanley Casey, David Casey and Patrick (Kip) Casey.
