MARTHA TULLY JEFFRIES ROBERT TAYLOR GAMMILL III
Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church was the setting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, for the marriage of Martha Tully Jeffries, who goes by Marly, and Robert Taylor Gammill III. Officiating were the Revs. Daniel Kent Schieffler and Michael Thomas McCain, both of the church, and the Right Rev. Shannon Sherwood Johnston of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia.
The bride is the daughter of Patricia and Edward Jeffries of Little Rock. Her grandparents are the late Frances and Walter Elmer Simmons and the late Edwynne Morris Hornor, all of Helena, and the late Col. Charles Cole Jeffries of San Antonio.
Parents of the groom are Mary Ann and Robert Taylor Gammill Jr. of Little Rock He is the grandson of Clara and Dr. Thomas Norwood Higgs of Forrest City and the late Bessie and Robert Gammill of Camden.
The church’s foyer held a cathedral-style arrangement of pink garden roses, white hydrangeas, casa blanca lilies and larkspur. The altar held bouquets of white hydrangeas and pink garden roses and two large arrangements of white hydrangeas and greenery. Nuptial music was by organist Timothy Allen.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a silk duppioni ballgown with a customized ivory lace jacket. She carried an arm bouquet of calla lilies, plumosa and springeri.
Maid of honor was Elizabeth “Chase” Chaffin Jeffries of Little Rock, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Perry Barnett of Dallas; Megan McCain and Lindsay Briggs, cousin of the bride, both of Little Rock; Alison Burnette of Birmingham, Ala.; Katherine Curtis of Jackson, Miss.; and Meghan Milloy of Washington. They wore navy chiffon gowns with cowl necklines and carried gathered clutch bouquets of roses, anemones and dark blue berries.
Flower girls were Lucy Pennington of Rogers, cousin of the bride, and Harper McKeen and Ansley McKeen of Conway, cousins of the groom. Ring bearer was Ernie Pennington of Rogers, cousin of the bride.
The groom’s honor attendants were his brothers, James Thomas Gammill of Orlando, Fla., and William Jackson Gammill of Little Rock. Groomsmen were Blake Barnett of Austin, Texas; Thomas Causino of Rockaway, N.J.; John Goings and Parker Higgs, cousin of the groom, both of Little Rock; and Marcus Pierce of Conway. Seating the guests were Ryan Barnett of Dallas and Robert Zetzmann III of New Orleans.
A reception was held at the Country Club of Little Rock. Guest tables were centered with various arrangements including tall silver urns filled with white and pink roses and white hydrangeas.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Mississippi, a master’s degree in French linguistics from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a member of Delta Gamma and the Junior League of Little Rock. She is a French teacher at Mount St. Mary Academy.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Westminster College and is pursuing a degree in accountancy at UALR. He is a member of Sigma Chi and is employed in commercial lending at Centennial Bank.
The couple will live in Little Rock and plan a March wedding trip to Paris and Rome.
