Please don’t say that

-

I wish Donald Trump, his aides, advisers, and news media, in an attempt to explain/defend Trump, would please stop disgracing the majority of voters with statements such as the following: “The people of this country elected Donald Trump.” “The people of this country support Donald Trump.” “But the American people voted for him.” “What the American people want us [him] to do.”

These pronouncements are simply lies—the majority of voters in this country did not vote for nor elect Donald Trump. He was placed in the presidency by the electoral college, not by a majority of voters.

These statements send the wrong message to the world about “American people” and who we are. The majority do not wish to be connected to nor associated with Trump’s endless tirades and what he stands for, nor wish to be known as “his base support.” Among other things, many think he is disgraceful, inept, immoral, a liar, a petulant crybaby, and not fit to be president.

I believe Trump, his staff, Cabinet, congressional flunkies/henchmen (including the Arkansas delegation), and his support base are ruining this country’s reputation and good will throughout the world. They are wrecking this country with their destructive thinking, consequential actions and inactions. Our country, form of government, and way of life are in danger with this administration. Is there not a legal means to stop this “train wreck” and the damage Trump and his minions are inflicting on this country before it becomes irreversible? LOUISE HENDERSON Hot Springs Village
