-

Police arrested a Little Rock man Tuesday night in a shooting that left a person hospitalized.

Michael Everhart, 39, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on charges of first-degree battery, possession of firearms by certain persons and theft by receiving, records show.

Officers were initially called around 5:20 p.m. to the 2800 block of Wolfe Street in reference to a vehicle accident. The call changed to a reported shooting as authorities were en route.

Police found Everhart lying on the ground on the northeast side of the intersection of 28th and Wolfe streets “acting erratic” and suspected of being under the influence of some substance, reports said.

Everhart was initially arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice after refusing to comply with officers’ requests, according to a police report.

Near Seventh and Marshall streets, police found 36-year-old John Webb of Little Rock, who had gunshot wounds in his left shoulder and neck. He was taken to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock where he underwent surgery, according to reports.

Police said Everhart shot Webb from the back seat of a vehicle. Additional information about the shooting was not released.

Everhart’s girlfriend reportedly told authorities that she hid the weapon near 27th Street between Bishop and Marshall streets, according to the report.

Everhart was at the Pulaski County jail as of Wednesday morning, and bail was set at $100,000, according to an online inmate roster.
