More Trump-bashing

-

I encourage all to read the article by AP’s Jill Colvin in Sunday’s Democrat-Gazette titled “So far, Trump prefers home to D.C. fare, sights.”

My summary: subtle and not-sosubtle Trump-bashing because President Trump “has yet to have a single non-working meal at a restaurant that doesn’t pay him rent.” Also no local charity events, local food banks or help for elementary schools reading drives. The article then mentions “First lady Melania Trump has been venturing out more often” and then notes the Obamas “relished the renaissance of the D.C. dining scene,” and “embraced the city.” The article then acknowledges that President Trump “did visit the Smithsonian’s new black history museum” and noted “Trump recently suggested that he might venture out of his comfort zone more often,” and quotes him as saying, “In Washington you do have some great restaurants.”

Then the article closes quoting Jessica Sidman, food editor at Washingtonian magazine, that the president may face resistance in the Democratic stronghold, where he won only 4 percent of the vote. And the closer, “I’m sure there are places that would welcome him, but I think there are a lot of places that might be reluctant to serve him … I’m just not sure to what extent he’s welcome in the community.”

My point: It seems to me an entire article berating the president for not getting out into the local D.C. community and then declaring he likely is not welcome. So, if he goes out, he causes disruptions, which the anti-Trumpers seem to relish; if he does not go out, they criticize him for not going out.

It seems Mr. Trump puts in a lot of time doing his job, sorta like a responsible businessman. Melania is usually ignored or criticized. Blatant media bias. Big time!
