ST LOUIS — Darice Leon Pate, 86, of St Louis, Missouri, died Monday. Survivors include one son, Johnnie (Kathy) Pate; two step-grandsons, Mike Watson, Chad Watson; seven step-great-grandchild­ren; one brother-in-law, H.K. Garth. –––––❖––––– HOUSTON, Texas — Louise Pitts “Mimi” Covington passed away peacefully at home in Houston, Texas, on December 27, 2017. She was born October 14, 1919, in Dardanelle, Arkansas, to the late Frank Pitts and Maudie Hulsey Pitts.

Mrs. Covington was a devoted

wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She loved the Lord and lived a life serving others. Mrs. Covington joined Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in 1954. She served over 63 years in several organizati­ons at PHUMC, such as Cancer Friendship­s, Methodist Women and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Mimi loved to laugh and tell stories, cook meals, play bridge and watch sports. All who knew Mimi, loved Mimi.

Mrs. Covington was preceded in death by her parents Frank Pitts and Maudie Hulsey Pitts; husband of sixty-two years, Ralph Covington; and daughter, Carol Gerhart. Mrs. Covington is survived by her son, Ken Covington and his wife, Linda, of Houston, Texas; seven grandchild­ren; seventeen great-grandchild­ren; and five great-great-grandchild­ren.

The family would like to express their appreciati­on to the staff of Kindred Hospice for the excellent care given to Mrs. Covington. Also, to her son, Ken Covington and daughter-in-law, Linda, who lovingly took care of Mimi until she joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven.
