Organ and violin
Organist Ken Cowan and violinist Lisa Shihoten will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Christ Episcopal Church, 509 Scott St., Little Rock. The concert is under the aegis of the Central Arkansas Chapter, American Guild of Organists and Arts@Christ Church and is the guild’s annual celebration of the birthday of Dr. Richard Hixson. ‘Historic’ exhibitions
Two exhibits open during the 5-8 p.m. Friday reception 2nd Friday Art Night at Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock: “These Various Threads I Drew: Needlepoint Samplers,” 19th-century samplers from the museum’s historical textile collection, on display in the Study Gallery through June, and “Going Unnoticed: Dustyn Bork and Carly Dahl,” work by a husband and wife duo — prints, paintings and drawings by Bork, and paintings by Dahl, on display in the Second Floor Gallery until April 8. The reception, in the museum lobby, will feature appetizers and Arkansas-made beer from Water Buffalo Brewing of Little Rock. Rena Wren will provide music.
