MARY RUE (GRIMES) ALLBRITTON, 89, of Sherwood, passed away January 12, 2018. She was born August 24, 1928, to Seth Walter and Clara Jane (Lane) Grimes in Enola, Arkansas.

She was known as ‘Pistol’ by her brothers and sisters. In 1955 she married Frank Allbritton and was together until he passed away in 1995. Mary was a licensed Cosmetolog­ist in 1967. She worked for Pfeiffer-Blass, then Dillard’s when McCain Mall opened. She was head of several department­s and retired from the China Department in 1998. She was an avid seamstress, made all the clothes she wore to work, played the piano, loved the lake, and her family meant the absolute world to her. Loved them “HOGS”, loved gospel music and was just a class act. She collected antiques to furnish her home. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, NLR, where she often-times played the piano as a young woman.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, Walter and Clara, sisters, Reba Jobe and Athalene Largey; her brothers, Ray Grimes, Arbie Grimes, George Grimes, and Charles Grimes. She is survived by two sons, Russell Frank (Vicki) and Bobby Ray and daughter, Clara Frances, grandson, Joshua Matthew Padilla, and two great-grandchild­ren, Hope and Bubba, brother, Jack Grimes and many other beloved family and friends.

–––––❖––––– LINDA SUE CANNON, 71, of Little Rock passed away, Thursday, January 11, 2018. She was a retired state employee and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock. She loved to write poetry and sing in the church choir.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Jessie Morris. Linda is survived by one daughter, Jerri Sue May of New York; one son, Brent Cannon of Colorado; three grandchild­ren, Emily May, John May and Kaylyn Cannon; and three brothers, Gary Morris of Russellvil­le, Kim Morris of Houston and Ray Morris of Bryant; and many other relatives and friends.

–––––❖––––– ROBBIE McKELVY, 80, of North Little Rock, Ark., went to be with the Lord Friday, January 5, 2018. She was born May 18, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, Ark., to the late Aaron Benton Ussery and Uvil Tackett Ussery. Robbie was also preceded in death by parents and her brother, Russell Ussery. Robbie was loved very much by her friends and family, and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, daughters, Tracy Seiter and Pamela (Steve) Woodall, her grandchild­ren; Haley Seiter, Carley Seiter, Kelsey Seiter, Deven Ryan and Bethany Woodall; her great-grandchild­ren, Kylie Mann and Ryker Jacobson. She was born on July 23, 1934, in Harriett, Arkansas, to her late parents, Loren Daniel Horton and Marie Estes Martin. Lorene worked in medical records at Children’s Hospital for more than 45 years. In addition, she loved camping, fishing and was of the Assembly of God faith.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roy Settoon; one son, Lee Settoon (Amber) of Little Rock and one grandson, Conner Settoon of Little Rock. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tommy Horton.

After retirement, he enjoyed spending time fishing and visiting with friends.

20, 1930, to Walter and Ella McCormack. She loved her flowers and her garden, and liked to sit on her porch and watch the animals and birds. She was an avid collector of cookie jars.

–––––❖––––– HOT SPRINGS — Joanne Davis Reagler passed away January 10, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, and her parents, Nathan and Carrie (Karnofsky) Davis.

She is survived by her three children, Robin (Marcia), Rachel Reagler Schulman, David (Karen); one sister, Elise Davis Leviton (the late Leslie); and eight grandchild­ren.

She was born on February 17, 1930, in New Iberia, Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana State University cum laude with a Sociology degree, and earned a Master’s degree in Psychiatri­c Social Work from Tulane University. She married David Reagler on May 3, 1960, and moved to Wynne, Arkansas, where she lived and worked as a community activist for 46 years.

A 4-time breast cancer survivor, Joanne led the Cross County chapter of the American Cancer Society for a number of years. During that time, the chapter won the top per capita giving award for the state. Joanne owned and operated a successful retail business, Handy Dollar Store, with her husband David until her retirement in 1998. She was voted the Cross County Arkansas Citizen of the Year in 2005.

Joanne devoted tremendous energy to volunteer work after moving to Hot Springs. She led the Congregati­on House of Israel sisterhood chapter to national achievemen­t awards and also served on the synagogue board. She created and led Holocaust awareness programs in the community and schools. The Women of Reform Judaism awarded the sisterhood chapter the Or Ami Award in 2009. She was awarded the Jewish Federation of Arkansas 2011 Tikkun Olam Award.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. at Jewish Rest Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Congregati­on House of Israel.

–––––❖––––– DALLAS, Texas — Perry “Buck” Stewart Jr., 75, the longtime theater critic at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram

known for his raspy voice and trademark ponytail, died Sunday, Jan. 7, from complicati­ons stemming from an October 2017 incident in which he was struck by a truck as he was walking across the street to deliver coffee to volunteers at his church. He suffered numerous injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, and never fully recovered.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 13, at Grace United Methodist Church, 4105 Junius St., in Dallas. The family will welcome guests at a church reception immediatel­y following the service.

Perry was born Oct. 18, 1942. He grew up in Little Rock, Ark., the son of a funeral director and one of Arkansas’ first women bankers. He was an honors journalism student at Little Rock University and a reporter at the Arkansas Democrat before moving to Fort Worth and graduating from TCU. He started at the Star-Telegram as a copy editor in 1965. He was quickly promoted to “amusements columnist,” and soon after became a legendary theater and film critic, the likes of which we will never see again. He also wrote a popular column called “Nightcrawl­er.” He retired in 1999 but continued writing for the Star-Telegram and TheaterJon­es.com through 2014.

Perry spent his later years regaling his many circles of friends with his stories. He was an avid golfer and beat everyone at trivia. He was a gentleman who made friends fast and never missed an opportunit­y to do a good deed.

Perry was preceded in death by his life partner Betty Cook, parents Perry Stewart Sr. and Betty Thomas Stewart. He is survived by his aunt Helen Lee, cousins David Stewart (Libby), Nancy Stewart, Ron Schmidt (Ginny), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who miss him dearly.
