Hope man arrested in rape, 2nd attack

-

Little Rock police on Saturday arrested a 23-year-old man in the kidnapping and rape of a woman earlier this month, according to a report.

Kelcey Colson, who faces multiple felonies in the kidnapping and rape, was also arrested in connection with an incident in which a woman was forced into a vehicle by a man armed with a knife, according to police reports.

Colson’s listed address was in Hope.

An arrest report said Colson fled Little Rock but called detectives to turn himself in. Authorities said the Hempstead County sheriff’s office took Colson into custody until Little Rock officers could take him to Little Rock.

According to police reports, Colson is a suspect in the rape and kidnapping of a 47-year-old woman on Jan. 8. Police have said the two suspects in the rape and kidnapping were also involved in a separate incident earlier that day in which a woman was forced into a vehicle by a man armed with a knife.

Colson’s specific role in the two incidents was unclear Sunday night.

Authorities arrested Colson on one count of rape, one count of kidnapping, one count of first-degree battery, two counts of terroristic threatening and two counts of aggravated assault.

He was listed on the Pulaski County jail’s inmate roster Sunday night.
