A Mountain Home man died and two other people were injured in a head-on crash Monday night on a highway in Baxter County in the state’s north, the Arkansas State Police said.

The wreck happened around 8:30 p.m. as Joseph Stephen, 25, was traveling north on Arkansas 177 in Jordan, according to a preliminary state police report.

Stephen’s northbound 1997 Honda Accord crossed the centerline, striking a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on.

The 47-year-old driver of the Hyundai submitted to a drug test, and those results were pending.

The police report listed the Little Rock man’s condition as appearing normal.
