UA’s Morris, staff to speak at clinic
University of Arkansas, Fayetteville Coach Chad Morris and his staff will attend the Arkansas Football Coaches Association Ronnie Roach Clinic at the Arlington Resort Hotel in Hot Springs on Friday.
The association represents more than 750 high school coaches. Cost for the clinic is $75, which includes admission, special clinic gifts and membership to the AFCA for 2018.
Morris is scheduled to speak to the group at 8 p.m. Friday. The offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator will speak at 9 p.m.
The event runs through Sunday and features numerous speakers, including North Little Rock Coach Jamie Mitchell, Greenwood Coach Rick Jones and Pulaski Academy Coach Kevin Kelley. University of Central Arkansas Coach Nathan Brown will speak before Morris at 7 p.m.
Morris and his staff will share their knowledge with the high school coaches during a breakout session at 10 p.m.
Other coaches scheduled to speak during the clinic include Chicago Bears offensive coordinator and former Arkansas quarterback Dowell Loggains and former Arkansas coach Danny Ford on Saturday, and North Carolina State offensive coordinator Eliah Drinkwitz, a graduate of Arkansas Tech, on Sunday.
The clinic is named for the late Ronnie Roach, a longtime Arkansas sporting goods dealer who died in 2004. — Jeremy Muck
