Just hatred and anger

Watching the State of the Union address to the nation Tuesday night was a wonderful thing to see and hear. Particularly enjoyable was watching Democrat Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. Nancy was doing something with her mouth and teeth that reminded me as a young boy watching my grandmother roll her upper and lower false teeth around inside her mouth without actually opening her lips. LOL! She made these motions for nearly 90 minutes.

You really have to give Nancy applause for her inability to rise or applaud for even one thing our president stated during his speech. Our president offered a hand of friendship toward the Democrats in both the House of Representatives and the United States Senate many times, pleading to lay their political and ideological differences aside and join him to “Make America Great Again.” Yet Nancy Pelosi and the majority of the Democrats in the Congress showed their hatred toward our president and the office of the president. Pity, and sad. It seems they have no plan for the future. They have nothing but hatred and anger in their hearts. Sad.

I pray each day for our leaders to come together and work for the better angels in America. These people were elected by their constituents to represent them; join me in hoping they can turn their hatred into positive action. It is past time for them to move on. LOUIS R. BURNETT
