2018. She was born May 8, 1931, in Quitman, Arkansas, to Lummie and Annie Tarkington.

She was preceded in death by her husband,

C.B. Holdcraft; her parents; two sisters, Odell Tarkington and Erma Jean Holland; brother, Bernard Tarkington; and her daughter, Georgia Mae Venable. She is survived by her sons, Donnie (Debbie) Holdcraft and Ronnie (Lachelle) Holdcraft; daughter, JoAnn (Mike) Venable; 12 grandchild­ren; 17 great-grandchild­ren and eight great-great-grandchild­ren.

Monica, California, to Nina June Crownover Kerr and Randolph

Cecil Kerr.

He was preceded in death by his mother and Rose. He is survived by his father, Randolph, his brothers Paul Jeffrey Kerr (Carol) and John Bradley Kerr, his good friend Paula Diane Kerr and his beloved nieces, Natalie June Kerr, Catherine Jo Kerr-Mullinax, Allison Paige Cobb (Jon) and Sarah Christine Drachenber­g (Philipp).

He was a much admired and well-respected professor for 37 years at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. He was an avid Warriors basketball and baseball fan. Members of the men’s Warrior baseball team gave Stephen special recognitio­n for his support in 2011 when he served as the team’s Faculty Fellow. Additional­ly, in 2011, he was installed as the Virginia A. McCormick Pittman Distinguis­hed Professor of Economics and Business.

The family would like to recognize Angela Carson, David Mlang’a and Mary DeLeon for their support and kindness during his illness, as well as Drs. Tim Freyaldenh­oven and Richard Calhoun. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Tom and Patty Siebenmorg­an and family for their continual love and commitment to Stephen.

Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, February 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1610 Prince Street, Conway, Arkansas.
