U.S. 67/167 work to shut some lanes

-

Work on a $79.2 million project to widen a section of U.S. 67/167 from Jacksonville to Cabot will require a series of lane closings and ramp modifications beginning Monday and lasting throughout the week, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

The lane closings will take place on U.S. 67/167 and the northbound frontage road, weather permitting. The locations include:

T.P. White Drive. The northbound and southbound lanes between Vandenberg and Northeast boulevards in Jacksonville will be alternately closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations and message boards to allow a pavement overlay and re-striping at the T.P. White on-ramp to U.S. 67/167 near Vandenberg Boulevard. After re-striping, traffic will continue to use the on-ramp, but the designated left-turn bay will be removed, the department said.

T.P. White Drive and Second Street. The northbound and southbound lanes between Coffelt Crossing and Arkansas 5 in Cabot will be alternately closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to allow crews to detour traffic onto new pavement at the Pulaski/Lonoke county line.

U.S. 67/167. The southbound right lane will be closed at the Arkansas 5 on-ramp between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. to allow crews to re-stripe the existing ramp and shift traffic onto new alignment. Traffic will be controlled with traffic barrels and warning signs, the department said.
