Dinner and Music SEARCY — Harding University will host a Valentine’s Eve Dinner and Concert featuring the Intersection Trio: violinist Laura Frautschi, cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper and pianist John Novacek. Dinner will be at 5:15 p.m. in Cone Chapel of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium. Dinner will include steak and shrimp, salad, a vegetable and dessert, with a vegetarian option available. The event is open to the public. Izard County Republican Committee Meeting MELBOURNE — The Izard County Republican Committee will meet at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Melbourne Community Church. The featured speaker will be Tommy Land, who is running for state land commissioner. Retired Teachers Meeting BATESVILLE — The Independence County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Kelley Wyatts Restaurant in the Ramada Inn, 1325 S. Saint Louis St. The group will assemble care baskets for retirees not able to attend the monthly meetings. Attendees are asked to bring small gifts to help fill the baskets. HELP Program Meeting CABOT — HELP (Housing, Educational, Lifeskills Program) is being developed to assist the homeless in the Lonoke County area. Community Valentine’s Day Ball HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Jazz Band will sponsor its first Valentine’s Day Ball for the community at the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church, 1099 W. Main St will offer a pastel workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Taught by Karen Barker, the workshop will explore color and underpainting to create dynamic, vibrant landscapes. Participants will work from photographs while it’s too cold to go outside.
