Dinner and Music SEARCY — Harding University will host a Valentine’s Eve Dinner and Concert featuring the Intersecti­on Trio: violinist Laura Frautschi, cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper and pianist John Novacek. Dinner will be at 5:15 p.m. in Cone Chapel of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. in the Administra­tion Auditorium. Dinner will include steak and shrimp, salad, a vegetable and dessert, with a vegetarian option available. The event is open to the public. Izard County Republican Committee Meeting MELBOURNE — The Izard County Republican Committee will meet at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Melbourne Community Church. The featured speaker will be Tommy Land, who is running for state land commission­er. Retired Teachers Meeting BATESVILLE — The Independen­ce County Retired Teachers Associatio­n will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Kelley Wyatts Restaurant in the Ramada Inn, 1325 S. Saint Louis St. The group will assemble care baskets for retirees not able to attend the monthly meetings. Attendees are asked to bring small gifts to help fill the baskets. HELP Program Meeting CABOT — HELP (Housing, Educationa­l, Lifeskills Program) is being developed to assist the homeless in the Lonoke County area. Community Valentine’s Day Ball HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Jazz Band will sponsor its first Valentine’s Day Ball for the community at the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church, 1099 W.
