THURSDAY Masters of Soul Concert
BATESVILLE — First Community Bank and the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will present Masters of Soul in concert at 7 p.m. in Independence Hall at UACCB. Masters of Soul is a celebration of the legendary songs and performers that defined Motown and soul music. Tickets are $10. FRIDAY AARP Driver Safety Course
NEWPORT — Arkansas State University-Newport and AARP will present an AARP Driver Safety Course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 134 of Walton Hall at ASUN. The cost for the course is $15 for AARP members with an AARP card and $20 for nonmembers. The class, which is designed for drivers ages 55 and older, promotes safer driving practices, continued mobility and a discount in auto insurance from most companies in Arkansas. SATURDAY Annie Auditions
BATESVILLE — The Batesville Community Theatre and the North Arkansas Dance Theatre will have auditions for Annie from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Brown Chapel at Lyon College. Auditioners need to prepare 16 measures of a song of their choice, to be performed with a phone mp3 accompaniment track or a cappella and are asked to wear comfortable clothing and no flip-flops or sandals. The production will be June 19-24 in the Southside High School auditorium. The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra Concert

With Diabetes Series
SEARCY — Unity Health Family Practice Associates and the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extensive Service will provide an education series, Living Well With Diabetes, from 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays in the Unity Health Annex (the former Carder Buick Building) at the corner of Hawkins and Hartsfield drives. The sessions will include a cooking demonstration, simple meal-planning strategies, tips for diabetes management and hands-on activities and discussions. First Electric Cooperative Scholarship
JACKSONVILLE — First Electric Cooperative is accepting applications for its scholarship program. High school seniors whose parents or guardians are First Electric members may apply for one of five $2,000 scholarships. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 gradepoint average through their senior year of high school and, upon graduation, be a fulltime student at an accredited institute of higher learning in Arkansas. Art Exhibit
ASH FLAT — The Ash Flat Library is displaying the artwork of Rosetta Ramsey, a senior at Highland High School. She has had her artwork placed in multiple high-school-level shows, winning awards and selling some of her pieces. She has also worked on multiple stage sets for high school plays. Ramsey achieved a passing score in her junior year for her Advanced Placement Art portfolio. Her newest concentration is labeled Things in My Car. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
