TEMPLETON, Calif. — Andrew Robert Reis was born January 17, 1977 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He passed away on February 19, 2018 in Templeton, California.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathe­r, Thomas Allen, grandfathe­r, Sol Reis Shmookler, grandmothe­r, Saralee Novack and Uncle Michael Novack. Survivors include his mother, Ivory Kinslow (Henry), father,

Robert Reis (Sun Lee), sister, Sarah Stashuk (Christophe­r), sister, Rachel Kinslow, grandmothe­r, Irene Allan and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born in Scotland, Andrew lived in Canada for three years and then lived in the USA. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion and Philosophy from Hendrix College in Arkansas and obtained his Multiple Teaching Credential.

Andrew was the kind of guy who could walk in and get 35 on the ACT test and a Master’s Degree, but spend his life working on hunger projects and teaching special needs children.

He had a special talent for trivia and his team won many competitio­ns. He will be missed by his family, friends and hundreds of children he would have taught.

A Celebratio­n of Life was held in California on February 23, 2018. There will be a small family memorial service in Little Rock in April, followed by a Celebratio­n of Life in Scotland for his British family.

BRIGHTON, Tenn. — Mrs. Nelle Jenkins Surguine, age 87, of Brighton, Tennessee, formerly of Forrest City, died Tuesday at her home in Brighton. She had been in poor health for the past several years.

Mrs. Surguine was born June 27, 1930, in Des Arc, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Loyd J. Jenkins and Eula Mae Hobson Jenkins. She lived in Forrest City until moving to Brighton in 2014, was retired from Planters Bank and Trust Company in Forrest City, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City.

Mrs. Surguine married Charles Eugene Surguine in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by two sons; Michael E. Surguine of Chandler, Arizona, and Terry A. Surguine of Batesville, one daughter, Cathleen Surguine Rainey, and husband, Lloyd, of Brighton, Tennessee, one granddaugh­ter, Sarah Surguine Vance, and husband, John Michael, of Cabot, and two great-grandchild­ren; Noah Fulton Vance and Nathan Charles Vance, both of Cabot.

Services for Mrs. Surguine will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1 p.m., Friday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 11 a.m., until the time of the service.
