Our angel on earth, SUSAN “SUSIE” TINSLEY GILLIHAN, 86, suddenly received her heavenly wings on

March 4, 2018.

While she was more than ready to be reunited with her loved ones in heaven, we were not ready for her to go.

Susie was born to the late Thomas Cleveland Tinsley and Rosa Lee Mitchum Tinsley on February 27, 1932 in El Dorado, Ark. She is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Jack Tinsley and Eloise Bates, and the love of her life, Carl Wayne Gillihan. Susie is survived by her three children, whom she loved with all of her heart: Bridgett Norwood (Wyn), Laurie Osborne (Bob), and Brad Gillihan; and four grandchildren, Brandon Gillihan (Jennifer),

Matthew Couch, Lindsay Wolf (Scott), and Chase Osborne. She had step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives too numerous to mention along with a plethora of friends that she considered family. Also left to cherish her memory is her beloved rescue dog, Feonia, who she always said rescued her.

Susie attended Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas before she met her dear, sweet Carl. She was a nurse for 30+ years and also served our country as a military spouse. As a Master Gardener, she loved beautiful flowers and plants and freely shared her wisdom with those interested in the craft. She was also a member of the Eleanor Roosevelt Democratic Club for several years. Susie and Carl were faithful members of FCC Sherwood for more than 25 years. Although she had numerous hobbies, including reading and painting, what Susie will always be remembered for is her loving heart and open arms. She rarely ever met a stranger, and if she did, they were likely invited to have dinner with her that same evening so that she could get to know them. She was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church of Sherwood at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10th. Online guestbook at www. griffinleggettresthills.com.

–––––❖––––– MARGARET NELL FRASER TYLER, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on March 3, 2018. She was born on November 13, 1942, the daughter of James Hubbard Fraser and Mabel Claire Vail Fraser. Those who knew her would all agree that she was a beautiful person both inside and out with a radiant glowing personality, a wonderful sense of humor, a positive outlook on life and the best smile ever.

Margaret was smart and talented, and from an early age she was involved in Ballroom, Tap, and Ballet Dancing, piano, voice, speech/ drama and singing in her church choir. She attended Little Rock Central High School and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. While at Central she was a member of the A cappella Choir and played a major role in the senior play. From grade school on she was on the Honor Roll, Beta Club, Junior National Honor Society, National Honor Society and while at the University of Arkansas was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

In 1961, Margaret married the love of her life and soul mate, James H. Tyler of Little Rock. They did everything together; cooking, camping, fishing, walking through the woods, enjoying friends and being with their daughter Sheri and their nieces and nephews who lovingly called her Aunt Mappie. Margaret and Jim’s favorite thing was dancing and they went often until she became ill. Their last dance together was on October 29, 2005. They were married for 56 years and loved each other just as much at fifty-six years as the day they were married.

Margaret was selfless in her devotion to her parents and family, helping them in any way possible and tending to her father and mother for many years. They both said she was an angel.

Unfortunately Margaret was forced to fight through several disabling illnesses and like the person she was, fought with bravery and courage, never complaining and never lost her laugh and beautiful smile. Margaret was an inspiration to us all and will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Hubbard Fraser; mother, Mabel Claire Vail Fraser and brother, Dr. James H. Fraser. She is survived by her husband, James H. Tyler of Little Rock; daughter, Sheri Ann Kennedy of Tacoma, Wash., and sister, Jamie McLain of Conway; nephews, Scott A. Fraser (Hanna) of Bella Vista; Roy S. HOT SPRINGS — Robert Paul Tucker, aged 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hot

Springs Thursday March 1,

2018. Born in

Little Rock, July

3, 1958, Robert graduated from Hall High

School in 1976 where he was senior class vice-president. After completing his freshman year at Vanderbilt University he returned to Arkansas to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture design from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He participated in the European Studies program through Texas A&M University in Florence, Italy and upon returning to the states went on to further his studies at The Ohio State University graduating with a Master of Landscape Architecture. Upon graduation he joined the urban planning and design service of Chicago’s world renowned Skidmore Owings & Merrill. Robert later moved on to work for the City of Chicago, Department of Planning and Development as Urban Design Coordinator designing two downtown parks. He was especially proud of his work designing pocket parks in Chicago. After several years of weathering Chicago’s harsh winters he headed to Southern California where he worked for the Los Angeles and San Diego School districts, the California Department of Parks and Recreation and City of San Diego as a development project manager. In 2007, he repatriated to Arkansas accepting a position as a director with the City of Pine Bluff where seeing the need for historic preservation he successfully persuaded the Mayor and City Council to create the Downtown Historic District. In 2013 Robert joined Tri-Lakes Metropolitan Planning Organization in Hot Springs as the Study Director. For the majority of his life, Robert had special affinity for municipal landscape projects and historic preservation. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) for 24 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Jean Cauthron Tucker (Dot) and Dr. Jack A. Tucker Sr. He is survived by his sister Janis E. Hill of Ovilla, Texas; brother, Jack A. Tucker, Jr. (Bobbie), of Little Rock; nephew and nieces Mallory A. Horton of Ovilla Texas, Dorothy E. Luna (Jeff) of Golden, Colo., Elizabeth L. Tucker of Little Rock, Ark., and Martha E.T. Hill of Ovilla, Texas; as well as great-nephews, Nathaniel Chicas of Tulsa, Okla., and Noah Luna, of Golden, Colo. and his little dog, Major.

Robert, known simply as “Tucker” to most of his friends, was anything but simple. He was an extraordinary man who could entertain everyone with his fascinating extensive knowledge of art, architecture, history and politics. Robert offered a unique, fresh perspective on any subject and was usually spot on. An enthusiastic social animal, Robert

loved to host a party, whether at his parents’ home (of course they were out of town) during high school at Hall, or on his beloved Lake Hamilton in later years. If Robert threw the party, you wanted to be there. Always the lively story teller, Robert was most gracious, genteel, elegant and cultured. He also had a high sense of justice and fairness. To tell just one anecdote showing this, when one of his new classmates came to school as a third grader with a stuttering problem, no one would talk to this person, except Robert, who approached him saying “I will be your friend!” In Junior High football, if a friend told Robert another person had been mean to them, Robert would be sure to set the bad guy straight, mowing them down in the finest bruiser lineman fashion. He was a principled and courageous man. He brought beauty and life to his work and home. Robert was a true and loyal friend and shared the love of scores of childhood friends that continues to this day. We are deeply heartbroken.

Although no longer here in the physical sense, we all imagine him in spirit at the lake, mixing a cocktail, reminiscing, brushing his special barbeque sauce on the chicken and readying the party barge for an evening excursion. We love you Robert you will always be with us.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs, Ark. 71913. In lieu of flowers at the ceremony please make a donation in Robert’s name to the Humane Society of Garland County, 1249 Ault Loop, Lonsdale, Ark. 72087.

For those of you that wish to join after the ceremony there will be a brief gathering on Lake Hamilton on the property where Robert was building his dream home. Flowers or remembrances at the lake are welcome. Directions will be available at the funeral home. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
