Beaver Dam route to shut for 2 weeks

Work on Beaver Dam in Carroll County will require a section of Arkansas 187 that crosses the dam to be closed for the next two weeks, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

The section of Arkansas 187 on the dam will be closed beginning at 7:30 a.m. today and remain closed until March 25 to allow crews from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to remove and repair the dam’s intake gates.

The recommended alternate route is U.S. 62, the department said. Traffic will be controlled with signs and traffic cones.
