Arkansas Index falls as 11 issues decline

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, dropped 3.66 to 421.62 Monday.

Eleven stocks declined Monday and six others advanced.

P.A.M. Transportation fell 5.1 percent on light volume.

USA Truck fell 2.4 percent on average volume.

Acxiom rose 1.6 percent in heavy trading.

Uniti Group gained 1.4 percent on light trading.

Total volume for the index was 21.9 million shares.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
