NIXA, Mo. — Jimmy Wallis, 75, of Nixa, Missouri, died Thursday. Survivors: wife, Lois Wallis; sons, Chad and Billy Wallis; daughter, Donna Howell; two sisters; eight grandchild­ren; eight great-grandchild­ren; nieces and nephews. LAS VEGAS — Willie James Marshall, Sr. age 47 of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Hot

Springs, died

March 31, 2018.

He was born December 29, 1970 in Hot Springs to Margaret Ann Marshall and

Willie James McCoy. He was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ.

Willie attended the Hot Springs School System and graduated from Jacksonvil­le High School in Jacksonvil­le, N.C. He joined the United States Army and served our country for 20 years retiring as a Master Sergeant. While serving in the military he was a highly decorated solider. He was awarded a Purple Heart due to injuries received as a result of hostile enemy action.

Willie loved boxing and followed in his father’s footstep and coached boxing. He loved sports and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his beloved children, Jasmine (Kendall Abel) Marshall and Willie James Marshall; granddaugh­ter, Amber Skyann; father, Willie James McCoy (Dr. Janice McCoy, PhD); siblings, Daniel Johnson, Dr. Dorian McCoy, PhD (Carrie), Roderick McCoy (Tonya), Quentin McCoy (Eric), William McCoy (Tonya), Jeremy McCoy, Estra Barton (George), Paula Greathouse, Anita Douglas (Brian) and Tara Wesson-Miller (LaKeshia); a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Mark Baptist Church 542 Crescent Ave, Hot Springs. Burial will be at 12 noon in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Guest registry is at www.carriganme­morial.com. Arrangemen­ts are entrusted to Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services.

–––––❖––––– DALLAS — Kenneth Goss Jones, M.D., beloved husband and father, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on

March 23, 2018. Kenneth was born February

2, 1919 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of

68 years, Beryl S. Jones of Sachse, Texas, formerly of Little Rock, Arkansas; by his father, Judge Gus William Jones of El Dorado, Arkansas; by his mother Byrd Goss Jones

of Little Rock, Arkansas; and by his brother Gus William Jones, Jr., M.D. of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of three years, Gloria Presley of Dallas, Texas; by his sons and their wives, Commander W. Scott and Patti Jones of McKinney, Texas; Dr. L. Hollis and Dawn Jones of Dallas, Texas; and Robert K. Jones, Esq. of Dallas, Texas; by four grandchild­ren; and by nine great-grandchild­ren.

Kenneth was a graduate of the University of Arkansas Medical School. He served in the United States Navy Medical Corps in World War II and saw action as a Beach Medical Officer at Eniwetok and Iwo Jima. After the war, Kenneth completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in Chicago, Illinois, and returned to Little Rock, Arkansas, where in 1954 he and the late Horace Murphy, M.D. founded the Jones-Murphy Orthopedic Clinic, which later became the Little Rock Orthopedic Clinic, where he practiced medicine for 33 years.

Kenneth was a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Arkansas Medical Society, the Flying Physicians Associatio­n and the NFL Physicians Associatio­n.

Kenneth contribute­d greatly to medical research. In 1963 he reported a new surgical technique for reconstruc­tion of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which is today known as the “Jones Procedure.” Kenneth also pioneered modern hand surgery, publishing frequently in medical journals such as the Journal of the Arkansas Medical Society. Kenneth was recently honored by the NFL Physicians Associatio­n for his contributi­ons to sports medicine.

Kenneth was also an accomplish­ed aviator. He held FAA Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor certificat­es, with numerous ratings. He was also an avid alpine skier and certified SCUBA diver.

Kenneth and Beryl founded KBJ Timber, Ltd, establishi­ng one of the largest privately held timber plantation­s in Arkansas. Kenneth and Beryl moved to Sachse, Texas in 2000, to be near their children and grandchild­ren. After Beryl’s passing in 2012, Kenneth moved to The Tradition in Dallas, Texas. In 2015 Kenneth married Gloria Presley of Dallas, Texas. Kenneth’s family will honor him at a private memorial service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. His family requests that instead of flowers, those that wish to honor Kenneth make a donation in his name to either the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine or to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
