Graduate accepted into physics program

HEBER SPRINGS — Tanner Feeler, a former student at Arkansas State University­Beebe Heber Springs and current Learning Center interim coordinato­r, has been accepted into the University of Florida physics program for the 2018 fall term.

Feeler plans to study cosmology and quantum field theory and will be working with the Institute for High Energy Physics and Astrophysi­cs and the Institute for Fundamenta­l Theory.

“I am incredibly grateful to ASU-Beebe, particular­ly my home campus at Heber Springs, both for the instructio­n I received as a student and for the profession­al guidance I have acquired through employment here,” Feeler said.

Feeler is a graduate of Heber Springs High School and enrolled at ASU-Beebe Heber Springs in 2009. He worked as a student tutor for Student Support Services and completed 70 hours with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.84. After graduation from ASU-Beebe, Feeler transferre­d to the University of Central Arkansas to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

After earning a degree in physics and mathematic­s, Feeler began working for the Heber Springs campus as a mathematic­s tutor in the Learning Center and was promoted to interim coordinato­r last year.
