The greatest question

-

There is no greater ending in all literature than the divine question, “Shall I not have compassion,” which remains unanswered. Its echoes are heard still in every crowded haunt of men above the stir, the noise, the wickedness, his compassion is still brooding. The Bible asked a great question, “Why do you not know you are a temple of God?” God’s temple is holy, whose temple you are.

A great question facing America is how did the evangelicals get from Matthew 25 and born-again Jimmy Carter to Stormy Daniels in one generation? In the book of John, Jesus declared four times that Satan is the ruler of this world; also, the world does not hate us. The world looks upon us as its own. Jesus said it hates me because I testify that its deeds are evil. Jesus also said as the father has sent me, I also send you to make disciples of all nations.

In Revelation, God profiled seven churches that gave them results of what they were doing. He gave all a challenge: He who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches. You are the light of the world, the new cloth, the new wine, the sower, the mustard seed, the house built on a rock, the leaven, the pearl of great value, the salt of the earth (even when it has lost its savor and is useless), the dragnet, the labors in the vineyards, the good Samaritan, the friends at midnight, the watchful servant, the wise steward, the branch that bears fruit, and by this fruit you will know them.
