-

CABOT — Angela Beason, a Cabot High School teacher and volunteer, received this year’s TEACH Award, which was presented to her at the fourth annual Service and Recognition Ceremony on May 3 at The Officer’s Club at Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia. The Wreaths Across America TEACH award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution in teaching the importance of remembering and honoring those who serve or have served in the military. Beason is recognized for her work as a dedicated educator, Wreaths Across America Volunteer location coordinator and for her support as a board member for the nonprofit Arkansas Run for the Fallen.

“With our annual awards, Wreaths Across America honors those special individuals and organizations who commit personal time, action and intention in remembering our nation’s fallen heroes,”said Karen Worcester, executive director of Wreaths Across America. “National Wreaths Across America Day is an event, but Wreaths Across America is a year-round mission. It is the heartfelt efforts of individuals like Angela, who make it their personal mission to Remember, Honor and Teach, and share the stories of the people who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms.”

Beason coordinates fundraising efforts and Wreaths Across America Day ceremonies at several central-Arkansas cemeteries. Her goal is to ensure that all heroes who are honored at the Run for the Fall Memorial receive a wreath, no matter where they are buried. To sponsor a $15 wreath for a hero, visit Beason’ss fundraising page. For more information or to find a nearby participating cemetery, visit www. wreathsacrossamerica.org.
