Described him to aT

-

I enjoyed Mr. Reg Edwards’ letter stating that his negative opinion of Donald Trump himself was overshadowed by the fact that real people had actually voted for him. I share Mr. Edwards’ very real concern that those people can still support such a person(?).

I was born, raised and educated in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. When we heard that “T” was actually running for president, it was hard to fathom. We had had at least 40 years of knowing what—not “who”—T was, and had heard all the adjectives: “con artist”; “cheat”; “bigot”; “dishonest”; “liar”; “serial womanizer”; “conspiracy theorist”; “homophobe”; “misogynist”; ad infinitum. And many of us heard these words from friends and family who were directly “negatively impacted” by New York’s No. 1 privileged playboy. The Internet and courageous journalism have played a major part in the dissemination of these adjectives to round out the picture even more. We should all know by now what the norms of responsible government and civility look like lying in a heap of ashes.

I have added a few more choice words that reflect T’s most recent policies: wrenching terrified babies and toddlers from immigrant parents and allowing the slaughter of helpless bear cubs and wolf pups in dens. “Cruel,” “mean” and “inhumane” come to mind.

Good question, Mr. Edwards. When does the party that hosts the “Values Voter Summit” and hypocritically claims the moral high ground come out of hiding? When do the voters who chose this prevaricator-in-chief wise up? When do they choose character, principle, truth and respect for the rule of law over TV ratings? When do we get our country back?
