VERBLE ESTON HERRINGTON of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2018. He was born November 10, 1925 in Gurdon, Arkansas to Andrew L. Herrington and Maud Lou McGinnis Herrington.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Earl Herrington; sister, LouElla Herrington Tinkle; first wife, Gertrude Roine Herrington; and son-in-law, Jackson Snell. Verble is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia Lee Hill Herrington; his daughter, Barbara Herrington Snell; grandsons, John and Greg Snell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Verble was a man of God and member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He worked as a machinist for 44 years for MoPac/Union Pacific and was a WWII Navy veteran.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

–––––❖––––– Chaplain (Col.) BENJAMIN F. KELLEY, 90, died on June 9, 2018. He was born on

August 31, 1927, in Jamestown, Arkansas to Tinsley Vaughn Kelley and Margie Kelley.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cook, whom he married on August 24, 1945. He is also survived by sons Benjamin Kelley, Jr., of Montgomery, Alabama, Bruce

(Peggy) Kelley from Batesville, Arkansas, and John (Gretchen) Kelley from Cassopolis, Michigan, and his sister, Bettie Sue Sage of Tremont, Illinois. He was blessed with nine grandchild­ren and 21 great-grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by his parents, sisters Grace Kelley and Lavon Barnes, daughter-in-law Kathryn Kelley, and two great-grandchild­ren, Kathryn and Micah Kelley.

Ben graduated from high school in Pascagoula, Mississipp­i, in 1945 and from Arkansas College in 1950. He graduated from the Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1956. He served as a Corpsman in the Navy at the end of World War II. He pastored in churches in Arkansas and Missouri from 1950 until he became an Air Force Chaplain in 1960. During his career he was stationed in Colorado, France, California, Korea, Nebraska, Iceland and Arkansas. At the time of his retirement he was the Staff Chaplain for the 15th Air Force Headquarte­rs. His military decoration­s and awards included the Legion of Merit, Meritoriou­s Service Medal, Air Force Commendati­on Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Presidenti­al Unit Citation. Ben served as a Volunteer Chaplain for the FBI in Little Rock for several years. He was also very active visiting people in the area hospitals and homes. He belonged to the First Baptist Church in Jacksonvil­le and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Visitation will be on June 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonvil­le with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will be on June 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonvil­le with burial to follow at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the First Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.

–––––❖––––– DANIEL DAVID SIMMONS of Little Rock died unexpected­ly of Cardiovasc­ular Disease on June 5, 2018.

Daniel was born at home in Russellvil­le, Ark., on

April 1, 1978. He loved to spend time outdoors and with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Simmons Sr.; and his brother, Joseph Simmons Jr. He is survived by his mother, Maggie Patton; sister, Helen (James) Shearer; and partner, Robbie Smith. He had two nephews, Calvin and Christian Shearer.

His remains were honored at a private ceremony. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.

2018. He was 57 years old, born September 27,

1960 in Russellvil­le, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father,

Danny Womack of Harrison, Arkansas; grandparen­ts, G.L. and Ruth Crow of Dardanelle, Arkansas and Mr. and Mrs. L.O. Womack of Centervill­e, Arkansas. He worked as an electrical engineer for many years with Womack Installati­on. He loved boating, cars, music, family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Patsy Crow of Dardanelle, Arkansas; his son, Triston Womack of Cabot, Arkansas; sister, Angela Howell of Nashville, Tennessee; niece, Lauren and nephew Hayden.
