Stereo purchase turns into holdup

- JAIME DUNAWAY AND BRANDON RIDDLE

Two men told police they were robbed Monday afternoon while meeting with someone to buy stereo equipment near Little Rock’s airport.

The robbery happened around 2:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of East Roosevelt Road, which is just west of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.

Two Benton residents — a 35-year-old and a 33-year-old — told officers they had traveled to the address to meet with someone about buying car stereo equipment.

While there, the robber asked one of the victims if he had any money before displaying a black semi-automatic handgun and taking $340 from the men.
