WILLIAM “BILL” ALLEN, 62, died in a motorcycle accident on June 17, 2018 in North Little

Rock, Ark. Bill was born on

January 1, 1956 in Birmingham,

Ala., to Jim and

Pat Allen. To quote from his autobiography

“Speed Trap”,

“Bill earned wisdom the hardest way imaginable, by breaking many of the cardinal rules of civil society.” He was passionate about sharing his life story in hopes of helping others.

It’s not everyone who takes advantage of second chances, but Bill made his second act one that made his family proud, beginning with re-marrying the love of his life, Debbie, and living these past six years to the fullest by making lasting memories with his family and friends — especially his grandson, Beau.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Pat Allen and his brother, James P. Allen. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Allen; father, Jim Allen; brother, John Allen (Dale); sister, Ann Denny; sister-in-law, Mona Allen; step-daughter, Amanda Dewitt (Dan); grandson, Beau Dewitt; and granddaughter, Ellie Dewitt; and many adored nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 72114 followed by a celebration of his life at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America. Online guestbook at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.

DIXIE FAULKNER GUNTER, age 81, passed away into the loving arms of her

Savior on June

17, 2018. She was born to the late Wesley Eugene Faulkner and Anna Lorene Butler on December 12,

1936, in Pangburn, Arkansas.

Dixie was known for her zeal for life itself! She was beautiful in body and in spirit yet as humble as they come. Elmer Lee and Dixie met when they were both in the 3rd grade. Ever since that day, they were never apart. Having just celebrated 60 years of blissful marriage, the love they shared is evident in the beautiful daughters they raised. Dixie had a Master’s Degree in Education and pursued a career as a teacher until retiring after 33 years. Most of her teaching career was done at Sherwood Elementary, but even after her retirement, her family fondly remembers how she “never stopped teaching.” She was a devoted charter member of Sylvan Hills Community Church. As much as she devoted her time to many loves, her family was her top priority. Dixie loved nothing more than to take care of her beautiful family, especially doting over and spoiling her loving husband. She was a woman of virtue, elegance and humility. Someone whom will be greatly missed by all who knew her and fondly remembered.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cynthia Lee Gunter; and a loyal canine companion, Dakota.

Dixie is survived by her loving

and devoted husband of 60 years, Elmer Lee Gunter and three daughters: Valerie Lee Van Dame (Rick) of Frisco, Texas; Karla Ann Hand (Paul) of Sherwood; Kristen Lynette Fernandez (Jose) of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Sarah Gallardo (Josue); Lauren Ray (fiancé-Michael); Mack Ray; Jeff Hand (fianceé Sarah); Briana Fernandez; Armand Fernandez; Carlo Fernandez; five great-grandchildren: Hannah, Camryn, Logan, JJ, Layla; and two canine companions, Darcy and Neiko.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Dixie will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Sylvan Hills Community Church, 8019 AR-107 in Sherwood, Ark. With burial following at Henderson Cemetery, Hwy. 124 in Pangburn, Ark., at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. –––––❖––––– MARGIE WILSON WILLIAMS was born August 26, 1926, the 7th of eight children born to Arthur and Lillian Wilson. She was joined minutes later by her eighth sibling – her twin brother, Major, who survives her. The widow of Coy Williams, she is survived by her children Linda (Frank) Beach, Steve Williams, and Kimberly Williams (Charles Taylor). Her son, Larry Williams, predeceased her. On June 16, 2018 Margie bade the final farewell in her long goodbye on the 49th anniversary of Larry’s passing.

Margie is also survived by her grandchildren Angela (Trey) Reed, Jaclyn (Lance) Greeson, Alex (Tamra) Taylor, Vincent (Mara) Taylor and her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Maddox, Bennett, Adrian, Jomary and Jarelys.

Margie loved Jesus and was a strong and faithful Christian. She was a beautiful child, given to building toad houses and singing sweetly with her sisters. During her life she was notoriously feisty, speaking her mind to one and all, holding little back … especially folks who took themselves a little too seriously. She loved cats and frogs and family, not necessarily in that order.

Despite the hard times she survived, she spoke mostly of the good times and more often than not had us laughing uproariously. Coy always knew when family came to visit – he could hear us cackling from the back 40.

She retained her sense of humor even as her health failed, and surely has it still, chortling her way into her next adventure. The family will be forever grateful for the kind and loving care provided by the staff at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Baptist Hospice.

The measure of a life well lived is the depth of love, given and received. Margie loved, and is deeply loved by those of us – family and friends – privileged to twirl in her orbit. Hers is a life well lived.

We mourn the loss of that great laugh, her quick hugs, her pointed barbs, and all that is “Marge”. We find peace in her peace. We will miss her profoundly.

Visitation on Thursday, June 21 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., as well as the Celebration of Margie’s Life on Friday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m., will both take place at Roller-Owen Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, the Levy Church of Christ Ministries, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
